摘要: Disclosed are a thermoplastic polyester composition comprising a thermoplastic polyester (A) prepared from an acid component mainly comprising an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and a glycol component mainly comprising an aliphatic glycol and .theta.-type aluminum oxide particles (B); a thermoplastic polyester composition comprising the thermoplastic polyester (A) and a mixture (C) of two or more kinds of aluminum oxide particles different from each other in crystal structure; and films made from these compositions. Particularly, the films formed from the compositions can have excellent slipping property, abrasion resistance, and scratch resistance in repeated high-speed running.

摘要: Disclosed is a biaxially oriented film and a laminated film containing specified organic particles at a content of 0.001 to 20% by weight. The strength when deformed by 10% (S.sub.10) of the organic particles is in the range of 3 to 30 kgf/mm.sup.2, the thermal decomposition temperature for causing 10% loss in weight thereof is not lower than 350.degree. C. The weight average diameter thereof is in the range of 0.005 to 5 .mu.m. Since the organic particles have a good affinity with the matrix resin of the film and a good thermal resistance and the hardness of the particles is appropriate, desired protrusions hardly chipped and having an appropriate hardness for hardly scratching a magnetic surface can be formed on a film surface easily and uniformly. Therefore, a film excellent in abrasion resistance and scratch resistance at a high running speed and excellent in running durability can be obtained, which is useful particularly as a base film of a magnetic tape.

摘要: The ethyl alcohol-detecting device of the present invention includes an ethyl alcohol-detecting portion that calculates an ethyl alcohol content corresponding to an ethyl alcohol concentration, based on a first subject image stored in a memory and a reference image stored in a nonvolatile memory; an interfering substance-detecting portion that calculates a degree of interference corresponding to the concentration of an interfering substance, based on a second subject image stored in the memory and the reference image stored in the nonvolatile memory; and a determination portion that determines that ethyl alcohol has been detected when the ethyl alcohol content is equal to or higher than a first predetermined threshold and the degree of interference is less than a second predetermined threshold, and determines that ethyl alcohol has not been detected when the ethyl alcohol content is equal to or higher than the first predetermined threshold and the degree of interference is equal to or higher than the second predetermined threshold.

摘要: Disclosed is a process for producing a polyester composition which can be obtained by polycondensation of a dicarboxylic acid or ester-forming derivative thereof and a diol or ester-forming derivative thereof in presence of a polycondensation catalyst, in which a polyester having a good color tone can be obtained by adding a specific phosphorus compound after a polycondensation catalyst is added and pressure reduction in polymerization reactor is started and before the polycondensation of the polyester is substantially completed, and at a time in which the polyester reaches 75% or more of the intrinsic viscosity to be finally reached in said polymerization reactor.

摘要: The present invention relates to a polyester polymerization catalyst, comprising a solution containing an aluminum compound and an alkali compound, with water or an organic solvent or a mixture consisting of water and an organic solvent as the medium, a production method thereof, and a polyester production method, in which the product obtained by the esterification reaction or ester interchange reaction between an aromatic dicarboxylic acid or any of its ester forming derivative and a diol is polycondensed, to produce a polyester, comprising the use of said polymerization catalyst containing an aluminum compound.The present invention can provide a polyester excellent in processability and can overcome such problems as spinneret contamination, filtration pressure rise, filament breaking, film breaking and foreign matter production in the production process of products such as fibers, films, resins and bottles.

摘要: The invention is a polyester composition containing crosslinked polymer particles with ester bonds at the main chain. The particles are excellent in affinity to polyesters, and so the films formed from the polyester compositions do not have the particles falling off during high speed running, and do not have flaws in the film surfaces. The invention can prevent the generation of white powder and the flaws of magnetic faces caused by falling-off particles, and prevent the contamination in the production of films, even though these are problems caused when various conventional particles are added, and is especially suitable for use as products such as magnetic films.
