    摘要: A method and tool for manufacturing a scroll for use in a scroll type fluid displacement apparatus is disclosed. The method, which uses the tool of the present invention, comprises the steps of: (a) providing a tool formed by a mold including a first molding member having a first involute element and an end plate having a plurality of arc shaped holes; a second involute element rotatably coupled to the first molding member through a plurality of pins axially projecting from an axial end surface thereof, the first and second involute elements forming a radial gap; a rotatable member disposed along the end surface of the end plate of the first involute element and coupled to the pins of the second involute element to transmit the rotation thereof to the second involute element; and a second molding member to cover the open end of the radial gap, the second molding member having an indentation facing and in communication with the open end of the radial gap; (b) filling the radial gap between the first and second involute elements and the indentation with molten metal to form the molten metal into the shape of the spiral element and end plate of the scroll, (c) rotating the rotatable member to enlarge the radial gap after the molten metal solidifies; and (d) removing the scroll formed in the radial gap and the identation from the first molding member.

    摘要: A rotation preventing/thrust bearing device for an orbiting member of a fluid displacement apparatus is disclosed. The rotation preventing/thrust bearing device includes a discrete fixed portion, a discrete orbital portion and bearing elements. The fixed and orbital portions each include an annular race and a ring which covers the end surface of the race. Both rings have a plurality of holes or pockets in an axial direction. The radius of the fixed pockets is greater than the radius of the orbital pockets. The bearing elements, one of which is placed between each opposing pair of pockets, roll at radius R1 with regard to the fixed race and roll at radius R2 with regard to the orbital race. The sum of rolling radii R1 and R2 is substantially equal to the radius of the orbiting member. Rotation of the orbiting member is thereby prevented by the bearing elements which interact with the edges of the opposing pairs of pockets and the bearing elements carry axial thrust load from the orbiting member to the fixed race. By setting radius R2 smaller than radius R1, while maintaining the sum of these radii substantially equal to the orbit radius, the size and weight of the orbital race and the orbital ring can be reduced, which in turn reduces the overall weight of the orbital member of the fluid displacement apparatus. A reduction in the weight of the orbital member simplifies the construction of the apparatus by reducing the size of balance weights.

    摘要: A scroll type fluid displacement apparatus is disclosed which includes a housing having a front end plate and a cup shaped casing. A fixed wrap extends into an operative interior area of the casing from an inner end surface of an end plate of the cup shaped casing. An orbiting scroll has an end plate from which an orbiting wrap extends, and an opening at the center of the end plate. A drive shaft is rotatably supported by the front end plate and a crank pin extends from its inner end surface. The crank pin is rotatably carried within the opening of the end plate of the orbiting scroll through a bearing to thereby rotatably support the orbiting scroll. The crank pin has a radial flange at its inner end surface and a spring washer is disposed between the radial flange and the bearing to urge the orbiting scroll against the front end plate.

    摘要: A manufacturing tool for finishing a preformed scroll for use in a scroll type fluid displacement apparatus is disclosed. The tool includes a working member having an end plate and a first involute element extending from one end surface of said end plate. The end plate has a plurality of arc shaped holes along the outer side wall of the first involute element. A second involute element is rotatably coupled to the working member and interfits with the first involute element in a disposition to define a radial gap between the first and second involute elements. A plurality of pins project axially from an axial end of the second involute element and penetrate through the arc shaped holes. A rotatable member has a plurality of holes extending in the axial direction. The pins have axial end portions which extend into the holes in the rotatable member to couple the rotatable member to the second involute member and to transmit the rotation of the rotatable member to the second involute element so that the relative rotation between the first and second involute elements adjusts the gap between them.

    摘要: A device with an electromagnetic clutch includes a tubular member of steel which is secured to, and cantilevered by, a flange member secured to a housing of the device. A pulley having magnetic pole faces is rotatably mounted on the tubular member by one or more bearings. A drive shaft of the device extends out of the housing and through the tubular member, and supports a magnetic armature on the extended end. An electromagnet associating with the pulley is fixedly supported on the flange member to supply magnetic attraction force for attracting the armature plate to the pulley. In the arrangement, since the wall thickness of the tubular member is made thin, the outer diameter of the clutch can be reduced without degrading the transmission of rotational force. And a shaft seal assembly can be mounted on the drive shaft within the tubular member. Furthermore, the inner ring of the bearing is held between the flange member and a retaining ring fitted onto the tubular member, to be prevented from axial movement. In order to prevent the inner ring from rotating, the inner ring is locked to the flange member by connection of projections and mating depressions formed thereto. Thus, the assembling operation of the electromagnetic clutch is simplified.

    摘要: A scroll type compressor unit including a compressor housing having fluid inlet and outlet ports, and two fixed and orbiting scroll members within the compressor housing. Each scroll member has an end plate and a spiral element which are maintained angularly and radially offset so that both spiral elements interfit with a line contacts between the spiral curved surfaces to define moving sealed off pockets. In order that the fluid may be reliably taken into all fluid pockets, the end plate of the fixed scroll member is formed with a suction port connecting to the fluid inlet port at a position adjacent to the outer terminal end of the orbiting spiral element. Thus, the fluid introduced through the suction port may be taken into a fluid pocket which is formed at the outer terminal end portion of the orbiting spiral element and is sent along the outer surface of the orbiting spiral element to a fluid pocket which is formed at the outer terminal end of the fixed spiral element. The fixed spiral element is formed so that its outer terminal end engages with the inner surface of the compressor housing, and a seal plate member is disposed to close the gap between the inner surface of the housing and the peripheral surface of the orbiting end plate. This permits the fluid sent to the outer terminal end portion of the fixed spiral element to be pre-compressed.

    摘要: A reciprocating piston type refrigerant compressor is disclosed. The compressor includes a housing having a cylinder block provided with a plurality of cylinders and a crank chamber adjacent the cylinder block. A piston slides within each cylinder and is reciprocated by a drive mechanism which includes a rotary drive shaft, a rotor mounted on the drive shaft, and a coupling mechanism which converts the rotary motion of the rotor into the reciprocating motion of the pistons. The coupling mechanism includes an inclined member which has an inclined surface disposed at an adjustable incline angle. Accordingly, the stroke of the pistons within the cylinders can be changed by adjusting the incline angle of the inclined surface in response to the change of pressure in the crank chamber. A spring applies a force to urge the inclined surface to a decreased incline angle when th incline angle is greater than a predetermined incline angle, but applies no force when the angle is less incline than the predetermined incline angle.
