    摘要: In a pattern identification device performing pattern identification of data which has been input by hierarchically extracting features, a primary feature is extracted and distribution of at least one feature extraction result extracted is analyzed, a secondary feature is extracted according to this analysis result. Thus, it is possible to perform pattern identification robustly against fluctuations of the input pattern at a reduced processing cost while reducing the probability of occurrence of incorrect identification.

    摘要: An image pickup apparatus that is capable of taking a distortion-free moving image without enlarging circuit scale. An image sensor has pixels each of which comprises a photoelectric conversion section that generates an electric charge corresponding to the incident light, a charge storage section that stores the electric charge, and an output section that outputs a voltage corresponding to the electric charge. The pixels include a first type pixel with a charge retention section that temporally holds the electric charge before transferring to the charge storage section, and a second type pixel without the charge retention section. A setting unit sets up a mode. A control unit controls to generate an image corresponding the output voltage from the first type pixel in a moving image pickup mode, and to generate an image corresponding to the output voltages from the first and second type pixels in a still image pickup mode.

In the image sensor that includes a valid pixel area in which a plurality of valid pixels each having a photoelectric conversion unit is disposed, a first reference pixel area in which a plurality of first reference pixels each having a light-shielded photoelectric conversion unit is disposed, and a second reference pixel area in which a plurality of second reference pixels each having no photoelectric conversion unit is disposed, when outputs of the plurality of valid pixels are added to be read, outputs of the plurality of first reference pixels are added by the addition unit to be read, and outputs of the plurality of second reference pixels are read without being added by the addition unit. Thus, noises can be effectively corrected even in the small number of invalid pixels areas.

    摘要: A data processing method of reducing signals to numerical values and processing the numerical values are provided. The signals are obtained by using a probe array where probes of a plurality of kinds are immobilized on a solid phase as so many spots such that a plurality of spots of probes of one kind are arranged on the solid phase and causing the array to react with a target substance. The method comprises (1) a step of acquiring the signal from each spot as numerical data, and (2) a step of eliminating singular values from the numerical data obtained for the plurality of spots of probes of one kind and processing the remaining numerical data to determine representative numerical data.
