Abstract:
A semiconductor acceleration sensor comprises: a frame having an opening inside thereof; flexible beams extending from the frame to the inside of the opening of the frame; a weight suspended from and supported by the beams so that the weight can freely move; piezoresistors to be mounted on the beams and to vary the resistance values in response to accelerations which work on the piezoresistors. The frame comprises damper plate portions, each of which covers a part of the opening spanning from a corner portion of two neighboring sides of the frame on the side of the opening to the inside of the opening, and each of which serves serve as a stopper to limit movement of the weight. The weight has corner portions which face the corner portions, respectively, and each of which is chamfered to have a shape of arc or a polygonal line consisting of at least three sides as seen in plan view. Thereby, the breaking strength of each stopper is increased, and hence a semiconductor acceleration sensor having superior shock resistance can be obtained.
Abstract:
A document-managing-apparatus includes a storage unit which stores file-managing-information on a file of data constituting a document, which is a managing-target, and a storage unit which stores, by arranging in a particular order, document-managing-information on plural documents stored in the storage unit, position-information showing a display-position in a searching-screen of the display-unit being stored in the storage unit while related to the document when the storage unit receives a direction to search the document to display the documents in the arranged order in the searching-screen. When the apparatus receives a search refinement direction that narrows down the document from the plural documents, the apparatus searches the document, included within a previously set display-position in the display-positions shown by the position-information, from the plural documents. The apparatus displays only the document searched by a document-searching-unit on the searching-screen according to a direction to change the document display on the searching-screen.
Abstract:
An optical repeater is provided which is operable to amplify signals propagated by a pair of optical transmission fibers. The optical repeater includes a first rare earth element doped (REED) fiber coupled to a first transmission fiber of the pair of optical transmission fibers. A second rare earth element doped (REED) fiber is coupled to a second transmission fiber of the pair of optical transmission fibers. A plurality of optical pump sources are provided, there being either four or more pump sources, or at least two pump sources in which each pump source has a different center wavelength. One or more optical energy couplers are coupled to combine portions of the outputs of all the optical pump sources and to distribute the combined portions for insertion into each of the first and second REED fibers for amplification of signals and into each of the first and second transmission fibers for Raman amplification of signals.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to realize almost the same transmission characteristic in all wavelengths at a transmission rate of 10 Gb/s or more. An optical transmitter 10 outputs WDM signal light multiplexed with signal light of a plurality of wavelengths toward an optical transmission line 12. The optical transmission line 12 comprises an optical transmission fiber 14, an optical repeating amplifier 16 and a dispersion compensating fiber 18. The gain characteristic of the optical repeating amplifier 16 is set so that the gain becomes the maximum at the effective zero dispersion wavelength of the optical transmission line 12 and that lowers inversely proportional to the distance from the effective zero dispersion wavelength. The whole optical transmission line 12 is set so that the peak power deviation between the effective zero dispersion wavelength &lgr;0 and the wavelength &lgr;1 or &lgr;n on both end becomes approximately 4 dB.
Abstract:
A frequency deviation detecting apparatus for detecting frequency deviation of a dual tone multiple frequency (DTMF) signal includes frequency deviation analyzers for analyzing a received signal for frequency components proximate fixed frequencies in analytical blocks, each analytical block having a length that ensures the precision required for detecting the frequency deviation. Each of the analytical blocks of the deviation analyzers partially overlays an adjacent block so that analysis by at least one analytical block is ensured within a minimum duration of a DTMF signal.
Abstract:
In an optical transmission system, an optical transmission line has up and down systems and loops back a supervisory light between the up and down systems. Trunk stations are provided at both ends of the optical transmission line and one or more optically branching units are provided in the optical transmission line for add/dropping a specific wavelength respectively. A branch station is connected to each of one or more the branching units. A bypass line for bypassing the supervisory light is provided in each of the one or more optically branching units.
Abstract:
A method of suppressing noise and improving the optical transmission characteristic of a wavelength division multiplexing transmission system provides lights for suppressing noise from the light sources (NS1 and NS2) which are multiplexed on the wavelength division multiplexed signal. Consequently, the S/N ratio of each channel of a wavelength division multiplexed signal which propagates through the optical path can be improved.

Abstract:
A pumping light source drive system is disclosed for driving pumping light sources of an optical amplifier which is composed of a rare earth doped optical fiber doped with a rare earth element and said pumping light sources. The pumping light sources are always held in operation. The output signal power at the output of the rare earth doped optical fiber or the combined power of the pumping light sources is detected and compared with a predetermined reference power to control the output power of the pumping light sources, so that the output signal power or the combined power of the pumping light sources reaches a predetermined value.
