Abstract:
Various apparatae, methods and code are described for determining a designation or lack thereof of a carrier to at least one of a master cell group and a secondary cell group from at least one of at least one measurement object or at least one reporting configuration received from a network; determining measurement parameters for the carrier based on the designation or lack thereof from configurations and/or activities associated with the determined cell group; and performing measurements on the carrier corresponding to the determined measurement parameters. Various apparatae, methods and code are described for, in response to determining a user equipment's measurements being too infrequent on a carrier part of the user equipment's master cell group, assigning the carrier to the user equipments secondary cell group and receiving corresponding measurement reports.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for dual connectivity. In one aspect there is provided a method. The method may include detecting, at a user equipment configured for dual connectivity to a secondary cell and a primary cell, a radio link failure with the secondary cell; and reporting, in response to the detected radio link failure, an indication of the radio link failure with the secondary cell, wherein the user equipment maintains connectivity with the primary cell despite the radio link failure with the secondary cell. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.
Abstract:
Various communication systems may benefit from relaxed performance requirements. For example, long term evolution (LTE), and in particular heterogeneous networks (HetNet) as well as small cell detection and discovery in small cell deployments in general, may benefit from relaxed performance requirements for offloading measurements. A method can include determining whether a user equipment is in active data transfer. The method can also include using a relaxed performance requirement with respect to a plurality of gap bursts when the user equipment is determined not to be in active data transfer.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for handling different types of triggering quantities for a measurement reporting event such that user equipment behavior is predictable. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.
Abstract:
A user equipment comprising means for: determining an evaluation period, wherein the determined evaluation period can be at least a first evaluation period, a second evaluation period or a third evaluation period; and performing downlink channel quality assessment comprising performing downlink measurements during the determined evaluation period, wherein the second evaluation period has a longer duration than the first evaluation period and the wherein the third evaluation period has a shorter duration than the second evaluation period.
Abstract:
An apparatus may receive, from a source network node, a configuration of a channel bandwidth and a first bandwidth part for receiving data from the source network node, for example during a handover from the source network node to a target network node, and a configuration of a second bandwidth part for receiving data from the target network node. The apparatus may communicate data with the source network node and the target network node with a bandwidth including the first bandwidth part and the second bandwidth part using same protocol stack.
Abstract:
Disclosed are devices, methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for synchronization signal block measurement. An example apparatus for a terminal device may include at least one processor and at least one memory. The at least one memory may store instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, may cause the terminal device at least to: receive, from a network device serving the terminal device, a configuration for discontinuous transmission defining an active period and a non-active period of a cell associated with the network device; determine whether to perform a synchronization signal block measurement during the non-active period based on a first condition and a second condition different from the first condition; based on said determining, if the first condition is satisfied, perform the synchronization signal block measurement during the non-active period; and based on said determining, if the second condition is satisfied, refrain from performing the synchronization signal block measurement during the non-active period.
Abstract:
A user equipment that is configured to evaluate an expected handover delay to at least one of a plurality of candidate cells and to generate an indication of the handover delay and transmit it to a network node of a serving cell is disclosed. This allows the network to take into account handover delays when deciding on how and whether to perform a handover.
Abstract:
Disclosed in a mechanism for a user equipment connected to a base station via a first beam, to determine that a beam switch is to be performed from the first beam to a second beam, wherein the base station manages both the first and second beams and to perform the beam switch at least by a random-access procedure using the second beam to synchronize communications between the user equipment and the second beam.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for low-power wake-up signal design. A method may include transmitting, to a network element, a report indicating status on whether at least one beam of at least one beam pair is interrupted or not when beam pair switching. The at least one beam pair may include at least a first beam associated with a first transmit and receive point, and a second beam associated with a second transmit and receive point. The method may also include receiving, in response to the report, scheduling for a radio transmission.
