摘要： The present invention relates to a method for transmitting video information, in which a bitstream is formed comprising a set of frames comprising macroblocks. At least one switching frame is formed into the bitstream, macroblocks of the switching frame are arranged into a first and a second group of macroblocks, each macroblock of the first group of macroblocks are encoded by a first encoding method to provide a switching point for continuing the transmission of video information with another bitstream formed from the video information; and macroblocks of the second group of macroblocks are encoded by another encoding method. Errors in transmission of video information are reduced by forming at least one SP-encoded frame by predictively encoding the macroblocks; replacing part of the SP-encoded macroblocks with intra encoded blocks; and transmitting the encoded frame containing both predictively and intra encoded macroblocks instead of the SP-encoded frame.

A first bid is received from a first bidder and a second bid is received from a second bidder on the lot. The first and second bids each have a payment time and a rebate. The first bid is transformed into a first value and the second bid is transformed into a second value using the interest rate, period, and predetermined value from the buyer and the payment times and rebates from the first and second bidders.

摘要： Apparatus, and an associated method, for forming a UDP-Lite, or other, data packet with multiple, dynamically-selected, checksum-protected parts. Digitized data is provided to a formatter, and the formatter forms the data packet to include header fields identifying parts of the payload portion of the data packet that are checksum-protected with different checksums. Additional indicia is contained in the header part of the data packet to identify the checksum-type and the checksum-values associated with the separate parts of the data packet. Multiple, contiguous parts of the data packet are checksum-protected with selectable checksum-types, selected by a selector that operates to control operation of the formatter.

摘要： An instrument is provided for use in orthopedic surgery for reduction of a connecting member such as a spinal rod toward an implant such as a bone screw. An embodiment of the instrument includes handle portions that are pivotable relative to each other and biased apart, and arm portions pivotable relative to each other and to the handle portions. Distal portions of the arm portions, which are offset from the arm portions, provide structure for engaging a connecting member and an implant. Squeezing the handle portions force the distal portions of the arm portions together, forcing together the connecting member and the implant. A toothed bar and pawl may be provided to retain the instrument in a squeezed state.

摘要： A dual-position magnetron that is rotated about a central axis in back of a sputtering target, particularly for sputtering an edge of a target of a barrier material onto a wafer and cleaning material redeposited at a center of the target. During target cleaning, wafer bias is reduced. In one embodiment, an arc-shaped magnetron is supported on a pivot arm pivoting on the end of a bracket fixed to the rotary shaft. A spring biases the pivot arm such that the magnetron is urged towards and overlies the target center. Centrifugal force at increased rotation rate overcomes the spring bias and shift the magnetron to an outer position with the long magnetron dimension aligned with the target edge. Mechanical stops prevent excessive movement in either direction. Other mechanisms include linear slides and actuators.

摘要： Methods and apparatus for automated brush assembly are disclosed. A method of end-rounding bristle ends with an abrasive surface in random orbital motion relative to bristle tufts held in a movable gripper is described. A novel tuft carrier adapted to hold a plurality of bristle tufts in an arrangement suitable for direct mechanical insertion into the tuft chambers of a brush mold is also described. The tuft carrier has a plurality of tuft insertion cavities and a plurality of movable clamps, each clamp adapted to at least partially occlude one of the cavities when closed. Individual bristle tufts, having a fused end and a rounded or non-rounded bristle end, are transferred from a movable gripper to the tuft carrier by direct mechanical insertion. In addition, an apparatus for direct mechanical insertion of bristle tufts from a tuft carrier into the tuft chambers of a brush mold is described.
