Abstract:
The present invention concerns an on-the-fly long-running rotary filtration screen comprising a rotating split-flow bar, a filtration sleeve, filtration screen, a large gear, a small gear, a motor, a stop disc, two square keys, a outlet housing and a residue-removing rod. The main feather of the present invention is to employ the filtration bar to rotate continuously, mix and transport the plastic raw material toward the space formed between the split-flow and the filtration sleeve, thereby allowing the plastic raw material to flow into the conical hole and to be discharged from the funnel-shaped outlet of the outlet housing. When the motor is actuated, the hydraulic cylinder is also actuated with the motor. The action of the hydraulic cylinder causes the round rod to move forward, which in turn causes the filtration bar to move forward to a certain distance and backward to its original position, thereby generating a reciprocating action. Meanwhile, the plastic raw material is being mixed and stirred continuously, the action of transportation causes extraneous matters to be pushed into the space of the residue-removing thread and the guide bar is inserted into the guide bar slot, which is equipped in the residue-removing bar, to cause the residue-removing bar to rotate continuously, the action causes the extraneous matters to be pushed outward, thereby allowing the extraneous matters accumulated inside the space of the residue-removing thread to be discharged from the main housing, thus allowing the filtration device to operate continuously without stopping.

A backlight module (3) includes a light guide plate (2) and a light source (36). The light guide plate includes a light guide portion (20) and a frame portion (22) integrated with the light guide portion. The light source is arranged within the light guide portion. The light guide portion includes a light incident surface (240), a top surface (244) adjacent to the light incident surface, and a bottom surface (242) adjacent to the light incident surface. Each of the top and bottom surfaces may include an array of light diffusion concavities (246) or protrusions. The backlight module has a simple, reliable structure, and the cost of manufacture and assembly is reduced. In addition, the backlight module has improved light utilization.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and data structure for managing data in a memory device The memory device is divided into two volumes. The first volume is intended for storing relatively static data, i.e. data which does not change or is not rewritten frequently. The second volume is intended for storing dynamic data, i.e. data which is changed or rewritten frequently. Each of the volumes is divided into a number of blocks, for example erase blocks, with each block being divided into sectors. In the dynamic volume, each of the erase blocks has one sector allocated for storing metadata, and the remaining sectors in the erase block are available for storing data, other than metadata. In the static volume, each of erase blocks can store more than one sector of metadata, in addition to data other than metadata. The metadata may be stored in consecutive sectors in the erase blocks. According to another aspect, the data structure is suitable for flash disk memory devices and flash disk memory devices used for multimedia applications.
Abstract:
Affinity separation compositions and methods are disclosed for separating targets from complex mixtures. Affinity reagents are bound to a solid support oriented in a manner to facilitate the activity of the affinity reagents which are capable of binding specific targets by affinity recognition. Affinity reagents include IgY antibodies, proteins, peptides, nucleotides and polymers. Targets include proteins, protein-protein complexes, protein-nucleotide complexes, nucleotides, cells and subcellular organelles.
Abstract:
A check valve assembly mounted for engagement with a valve seat includes a flapper valve and a lever arm. The flapper valve includes a bracket pivotably mounted along a first hemisphere of the valve seat, a valve plate mounted to the bracket along a region generally spaced from a periphery of the valve plate, and a mounting assembly adjustably joining the valve plate to the bracket. The flapper valve has a closed position with the valve plate in sealing engagement with the valve seat about the periphery of the valve plate. The lever arm is pivotably mounted to the valve seat along a second hemisphere of the valve seat opposite the first hemisphere. The lever arm includes a lever surface disposed for moving contact with an engagement surface of the bracket and a biasing means for biasing the lever surface toward contact with the engagement surface.
Abstract:
Provided are methods and compositions for isolating and detecting rare cells from a biological sample containing other types of cells, particularly including debulking that uses a microfabricated filter for filtering samples. The enriched rare cells can be used in a downstream process such as identification, characterization or growth in culture, or in other ways. Also included is a method of determining tumor aggressiveness or the number or proportion of cancer cells in the enriched sample by detecting telomerase activity, nucleic acid or expression after enrichment of rare cells. Also provided is an efficient, rapid method to specifically remove red and white blood cells from a biological sample containing at least one of the cell types, leading to enrichment of rare target cells including circulating tumor (CTC), stromal, mesenchymal, endothelial, fetal, stem, or non-hematopoietic cells et cetera from a blood sample.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an integrated method for enriching and detecting rare cells in biological body fluid sample. The enriching method comprises: (a) removing plasma protein by centrifugation; (b) optionally adding a red cell lysis solution to carry out red cell lysis so as to remove the red blood cells; (c) adding immunomicrospheres or immunoadsorbent to incubate; and (d) carrying out density centrifugation based on a special cell separation medium for separating the circulating rare cells, residual red blood cells after removing red blood cells and the white blood cells combined on the immunomicrospheres. The method for detecting the enriched rare cells according to the present invention comprises combining immunohistochemistry based staining with immunofluorescence, or bicolor, tricolor or multicolor staining based on immunohistochemistry, and observing and identifying by fluorescence or ordinary optical microscope or a scanner based on microscope principle. The novel and unique method for enriching and staining has been proved to have low cost and can rapidly, effectively and high specifically enrich and quantitatively detect the rare cells in blood.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for increasing channel capacity in an Internet-based voice messaging system. Voice messages are stored in client mailboxes in the voice compression format they are received in a call answering session. During a message pickup session, the voice compression format of the retrieved message is compared to the voice compression formats or codecs supported by the user's terminal. If the voice compression format is not the same, re-negotiation is attempted, and if unsuccessful the voice message is transcoded prior to playback. If the voice compression format is the same, then the voice message is played back without transcoding. The voice message server also includes a voice prompt module which stores voice prompts in all the voice compression formats or codecs supported by the voice message server. The voice prompts are selected according to the supported voice compression format or codec and played back without the need for any transcoding.
Abstract:
A method for improving negotiations using a global pricing system includes retrieving customer information from a database and retrieving negotiation information from a database. The customer information and negotiation information are stored on a mobile device. The information is used to generate a negotiation range, and negotiations are conducted using the negotiation range and the information on the mobile device. Results of the negotiation are stored on the mobile device to be transmitted to a database. If a pricing decision has to be made based on the negotiation results, a case document is built based on customer information and account sales information. The case document is then provided to a case analyzer, along with internal information. The case analyzer is then used to generate a case summary document. The case summary document is used to make a pricing decision, and a database is adjusted to reflect the decision.
Abstract:
A system and method for speech recognition includes a speaker-independent set of stored word representations derived from speech of many users deemed to be typical speakers and for use by all users, and may further include speaker-dependent sets of stored word representations specific to each user. Utterances from a user which match stored words in either set according to the ordering rules are reported as words.
