    摘要: The invention provides liquid electrographic toner compositions comprising a liquid carrier having toner particles dispersed in the liquid carrier. The liquid carrier has a Kauri-Butanol number less than about 30 mL. The toner particles comprise polymeric binder comprising at least one amphipathic copolymer comprising one or more S material portions and one or more D material portions. The toner composition additionally comprises a wax component associated with the toner particle, wherein the wax component and the amphipathic copolymer each comprise at least one of a Lewis acid and a Lewis base pair in an amount sufficient to form weak, reversible intermolecular non-covalent bonds resulting from acid/base interactions between the wax component and the amphipathic copolymer. These toner particles can exhibit excellent final image durability characteristics, and can also provide toner compositions that provide excellent images at low fusion temperatures on a final image receptor.

    摘要: The invention provides dry electrographic toner compositions comprising toner particles. The toner particles comprise polymeric binder comprising at least one amphipathic copolymer comprising one or more S material portions and one or more D material portions prepared from an organosol reaction process utilizing a liquid carrier reaction medium having a Kauri-Butanol number less than about 30 mL. The S material portion comprises at least one soluble component and at least one non-sorptive component, wherein the non-sorptive component is the reaction product of monomers having an absolute difference in Hildebrand solubility parameter from the liquid carrier of about 3.0 MPa1/2 or greater. Additionally, dry electrographic toner compositions are provided wherein the toner particles comprise polymeric binder comprising at least one amphipathic copolymer comprising one or more S material portions and one or more D material portions. The S material portion of the amphipathic copolymer has an average Hildebrand solubility parameter of from about from about 16 MPa1/2 to about 17.3 MPa1/2, and comprises at least one non-sorptive component having an average Hildebrand solubility parameter that is at least about 0.4 MPa1/2 greater than the average Hildebrand solubility parameter of the S material portion. The resulting dry toner composition can exhibit excellent final image durability characteristics, and can also provide excellent images at low fusion temperatures on a final image receptor.

Methods of making electrographic toner compositions are also provided comprising preparing polymeric binder particles comprising at least one amphipathic copolymer comprising one or more S material portions and one or more D material portions, and milling the particles before or after formulation as toner particles with wax in the liquid carrier prior to drying to form the dry toner composition. These toner compositions provide images having excellent durability and erasure resistance properties at low fusion temperatures and with little undesired offset.

    摘要: Various embodiments provide an electrosurgical instrument with a disposable electrosurgical cartridge. In one embodiment, the cartridge has first and second energy-delivery surfaces that carry first and second opposing polarity conductors coupled to a voltage source, together with first and second temperature-responsive variable impedance bodies exposed partly in the respective-delivery surfaces. The cartridge further carries a slidable blade member. The temperature-responsive variable impedance bodies are coupled to the voltage source by series and parallel circuitry. In use, the variable impedance bodies are adapted to modulate current flow and ohmic heating in engaged tissue by providing controlled current paths in the tissue and through the variable impedance bodies as the temperature-responsive bodies sense the temperature of adjacent engaged tissue. The engagement surfaces are capable of highly localized modulation of Rf energy application to engaged tissue to provide high and low temperatures, voltage and current in the tissue to create high strength welds.

    摘要: A method of producing an image on a final image receptor in a single pass electrophotographic system is provided. The method comprises the steps of providing at least one toner development unit comprising a photoreceptive element and charged toner particles, and creating a toned image on the photoreceptive element that is transferred to an intermediate transfer member. The method further comprises providing a transfer assist material development unit for applying a transfer assist material to at least a portion of the toned image to form a complete image layer on the intermediate transfer member, wherein the complete image layer is formed in a single pass of the intermediate transfer member. The method also comprises contacting the complete image layer with a final image receptor while applying a bias that is sufficiently strong to transfer at least a portion of the complete image layer to the final image receptor.
