Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preparing an aqueous dispersion of water-soluble polymers, which comprises a step (E) of radical polymerization, wherein the following are brought into contact in an aqueous medium (M) in which the synthesised polymer is not soluble: at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer which is soluble in the aqueous medium (M); at least one source of free radicals; and a reactive stabiliser which comprises: a polymer chain (CP) which is soluble in the medium (M), a group (G) providing the radical polymerization of step (E) with a living and controlled nature, such as, for example, a group carrying a thiocarbonylthio —S(C═S)— group.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the preparation of polymers that are of use in particular as a rheology agent, and are suitable for use in very concentrated saline media, which comprises a step of micellar radical polymerization in which are brought into contact, in an aqueous medium: —hydrophilic monomers; —hydrophobic monomers in the form of a micellar solution, containing micelles comprising these hydrophobic monomers; —a radical polymerization initiator; and —preferably an agent for controlling radical polymerization, wherein said micelles comprise at least one surfactant of amphoteric nature. The polymers obtained according to the invention are in particular of use for enhanced oil recovery.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a copolymer comprising units of type A deriving from carboxylic acid monomers and units of type B deriving from sulfonic acid monomers, said units of type A and B representing more than 80 mol % of the total moles of units in the copolymer, characterized in that it comprises at least: one first block formed of at least 95 mol % of units of type A and having a degree of polymerization DP1 comprised between 5 and 150; and one second block formed of at least 95 mol % of units of type A and B with a molar ratio of units of type A to units of type B greater or equal to 1, wherein said units of type A and units of type B are statistically distributed, said second block having a degree of polymerization DP2 such that DP2/DP1≥1. It also relates to new detergent compositions comprising such a copolymer, and to the use of this copolymer in a detergent composition, especially an ADW composition, to prevent, limit or eliminate the filming phenomena.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for preparing a sequenced copolymer comprising a first block (A) connected to a second block (B), said method comprising the following steps of monitored radical polymerisation: (E1) bringing into contact, typically in an aqueous medium: unsaturated ethylene monomers mA, selected in order to constitute the block (A); a source of free radicals; and an agent for monitoring the radical polymerisation; and then (E2) bringing into contact: the polymer obtained from step (E1); unsaturated ethylene monomers mB; a source of free radicals; and a polymer P0 which is not ethylenically unsaturated and supports labile hydrogens.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method which allows quick and effective hydration of associative polymers, in particular those intended for use in the field of oil drilling. This method uses a specific solid formulation, which can be easily hydrated, including, in a pre-mixture, said associative polymers and surfactants capable of improving the hydration of these polymers.
