    摘要: A computerized method used by a distributed Web search engine for computing a ranking score associated with an item, such as a Web page, comprising the steps of: (1) generating a grouping of items in the Web according to Web sites, geographic criterion, and/or field, (2) determining links among groups; (3) for at least some groups, computing a group ranking using only inter-group links, (4) within at least several of the groups, computing a local item ranking for at least some items within the group, (5) for at least one item, locally computing a global item ranking by multiplying said group ranking and said local item ranking. Advantage: no need to retrieve a global link matrix. Method can be distributed. Reduction of cost in computation, better impeding of spamming, fresher ranking results.

    摘要: Compounds and associated methods for inhibiting a protein tyrosine phosphatase. By a combination of experimental and virtual screenings of the NCI Diversity Set chemical library, NSC-87877 and NSC-117199 have been identified as Shp2 PTP inhibitors. Significantly, NSC-87877 is active in cell-based assays and has no detectable off-target effects in the EGF-stimulated Erk 1/2 activation pathway. Additionally, a number of analogs of NSC-117199 have been produced. These analogs exhibit enhanced protein tyrosine phosphatase inhibition and are found to be potent and/or selective inhibitors of Shp1 and/or Shp2 protein tyrosine phosphatases.

    摘要: Protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) Shp2 is a non-receptor PTP that involved in cell signaling and regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, and migration. Shp2 mediates activation of kinases that are involved in the pathogenesis of human carcinoma. A high throughput screen identified compounds that inhibit the PTP Shp2. Several compounds were identified that selectively inhibit Shp2 over Shp1 with low to sub-micromolar activity. Also disclosed are methods of inhibiting a protein tyrosine phosphatase in a cell and treating cancer through selective inhibition of Shp2.

    摘要: Techniques are described for determining whether a stream is in a stable state and permitting adjustment of the PTS value when the stream is in a stable state. The stream can be in a stable state when PTS values received over a period of time do not change unexpectedly. For example, when the stream is in a stable state, the PTS value for audio or video can be adjusted based on system buffer levels, i.e., over flow or under flow. The amount of adjustment of the PTS value can be based on whether the buffer level appears to be moving into greater overflow or underflow. In some cases, when the stream is not in a stable state, the audio is permitted to be played back at a sample rate and video is permitted to be played back at a frame rate instead of being controlled by PTS.
