    摘要: A lock-up clutch controller for the fluid coupling of an automotive automatic transmission, capable of making a lock-up clutch provided in the fluid coupling for directly coupling the input shaft and the output shaft of the fluid coupling engage or disengage smoothly responsive to an electric duty signal applied to a lock-up operation control solenoid valve. The lock-up clutch controller includes, as essential components, a lock-up clutch relay valve (a spool valve), a lock-up clutch control valve (a spool valve) and the lock-up operation control solenoid valve which operates in accordance with an electrical duty ratio signal to control the lock-up relay valve and the lock-up operation control valve so that the working fluid is supplied to the fluid coupling or the fluid coupling is drained appropriately for the smooth engagement and disengagement of the lock-up clutch. The torque of the lock-up clutch can be controlled so as to be increased or decreased gradually or maintained at a magnitude allowing slippage by applying a gradually variable electrical duty ratio signal to the lock-up operation control solenoid valve.

    摘要: A navigation system for use in a vehicle including a route-calculating section and a route guide control section. The route-calculating section searches for an optimum route according to conditions set for the search. The guide control section provides displays necessary to guide the driver of the vehicle, and guides the driver by speech. This guide control has a landmark name-setting section which sets the names of landmarks according to information about the landmarks, the information retrieved from a guidance information storage section according to information about the present position from a present position-determining section. A display section displays a whole route map indicating the selected route according to instructions from the route guidance control section. At the same time, the names of the landmarks are presented on the display section. When the navigation system guides the driver to a destination via a tollway such as a toll highway, the name of an entry/exit interchange connecting to the highway is displayed. This permits the driver to take a familiar route up to this interchange.

Help function items are provided for the following occasions: when the driver wishes to input or change a departure point and then depart from that point; when the driver wishes to change a desired destination while en route to a formerly set destination; when the driver strays off course while en route to a desired destination and cannot determine his present position without returning to the point at which the vehicle went off course; when a course cannot be travelled because of road construction or the like; when traffic becomes heavy and the driver wishes to change from one route to another to avoid congestion, and when the driver wishes to temporarily leave the course and then return to the course at the same point.

    摘要: A navigation apparatus for navigating a vehicle in accordance with a preset course while measuring distance travelled and steering angle is characterized by presetting distance information for guidance along the course, and outputting guidance relating to the pertinent distance information in the form of travelling conditions corresponding to the preset distance information. Distance information for guiding a driver along the course is preset. Therefore, even if it is a long distance to an intersection at which the next turn is to be made, whenever the vehicle has traveled a fixed distance the driver is unfailingly supplied with distance information relating to the intersection at which the next turn is to be made and with distance information relating to distinguishing features seen along the course, such as facilities and scenery, during the time the vehicle is travelling between the intersections. Thus, if a long distance must be travelled to reach the intersection at which the next turn is to be made, the driver is frequently supplied with guidance relating to distance information while traveling. This makes it possible for the driver to verify the course and assures that the driver can drive the vehicle at ease without requiring that he be aware of the distance to the intersection at which the next turn is to be made.

    摘要: An automatic transmission provided with a combination of a belt drive continuously-variable speed transmission mechanism and a hydraulic control circuit. The belt drive continuously-variable speed transmission mechanism has an input variable-pitch pulley assembly and an output variable-pitch pulley assembly. The hydraulic control circuit includes a regulator valve, a throttle pressure valve, a reduction ratio detecting valve, a reduction ratio control valve and a reduction ratio control mechanism. The reduction ratio control valve has an axially slidable spool and two pressure chambers formed in the valve body thereof at both axial ends of the spool respectively. The reduction ratio control mechanism includes conduits for conducting the working fluid of a throttle pressure to the pressure chambers of the reduction ratio control valve and two solenoid valves adapted to drain the corresponding pressure chambers, respectively, when actuated.
