    摘要: An emergency reporting apparatus is provided which is capable of easily acquiring passenger information necessary at the time of an emergency report and reporting as deputy for a passenger in the case of an emergency. The emergency reporting apparatus, in a training mode, simulates questions from an emergency rescue facility which will be addressed when an emergency situation occurs, and learns and stores the reply contents and response procedures. From the questions and replies, the emergency reporting apparatus automatically acquires the necessary passenger information. Then, the emergency reporting apparatus reports, as a deputy for the user, the passenger information acquired in the training mode when there is no reaction from the user at the time of an actual emergency.

    摘要: A position input system for a vehicular navigation apparatus includes an input unit for inputting a desired destination and a present position, a memory unit for storing desired destination information and map information, and a display unit for outputting the desired destination information and map information in response to input information from the input unit. The map information is indicative of intersections and a geographical point located between intersections and possessing useful guidance information. A desired destination and present position are capable of being inputted by setting the useful guidance information between a road leading to and a road leading from the geographical point. This makes it possible to enter position simply and accurately. Positions are precise since they are selected from pre-stored information relating to geographical locations. Vehicle direction can also be inputted in accurate fashion where parking lot exits and intersections are concerned.

    摘要: A rotational speed detecting device for detecting the rotational speed of a predetermined element of a shifting unit is provided for at least one of a main shifting unit and a sub-shifting unit. A control is provided for controlling a predetermined friction engaging element of at least one of the shifting units according to signals from the rotational speed detecting device, so that shifting operations of both the shifting units will be synchronized when both the units are shifted. Therefore, the output of speed of the transmission is not temporarily increased or decreased and thus, smooth shifting is obtained.

    摘要: The coefficient of friction of a road surface lying ahead of a four-wheel drive vehicle is predicted and, if control performed on the basis of the prediction is incorrect, the coefficient of friction of the road surface actually traversed by the vehicle is calculated, thereby revising the prediction so that the next prediction of coefficient of friction will be more accurate. Accordingly, control for changeover between two- and four-wheel drive or for locking a center differential mechanism can be made to conform to the road surface conditions immediately and in an appropriate manner to prevent skidding or lock-up of the tires and, hence, assure a safe and stable traveling state.

    摘要: The transmission of the invention is capable of attaining a plurality of shift ranges by locking and releasing one or more elements of a gear mechanism to a casing of the transmission or by connecting and releasing the elements with the input shaft, the output shaft or into and out of engagement with each other. The control system for controlling the action of the elements of the gear set is a hydraulic control system having friction elements which achieve a higher speed range and a lower speed range of the transmission upon actuation by servo valves. An additional servo valve is included to work in opposition to one of the other servo valves and communicates with another of the servo valves. A communication control valve is disposed in a hydraulic line which communicates with another of the servo valves and with the servo valve acting in opposition so as to control the communication between these valves in response to a signal pressure developed by a signal pressure valve.
