Abstract:
An improved sensor array for a mobile vehicle. More particularly, the primary objective of the present invention is to provide mobile vehicle (10) traveling in a forward direction with a sensor array (12). Sensor array (12) comprises a first sensor (16) mounted to mobile vehicle (10) at a maximum lateral distance from said vertical axis of rotation (21) near a first side of mobile vehicle (10) and a second sensor (18) mounted to mobile vehicle (10) at a maximum lateral distance from said vertical axis of rotation (21) near a second side of mobile vehicle (10). First sensor (16) and the second sensor (18) emit object detecting beams for detecting an object (39) ahead of mobile vehicle (10). A plurality of other object detecting beams are emitted obliquely to the object detecting beams of sensor (16) and sensor (18). These other beams, in conjunction with the object detecting beams from sensor (16) and sensor (18) form zones of overlapping beam coverage for better detection of objects.
Abstract:
Valve boxes of this invention comprise a housing including an inner chamber that extends axially through the housing from a housing base. The housing chamber includes a diameter that is defined by a housing sidewall surface that extends outwardly from the base, forming a chamber opening. The chamber opening includes a seal surface that is positioned radially inwardly towards the chamber. The valve box further includes a lid that is positioned over the housing chamber opening. The lid includes a concave center section and a seal surface disposed radially therearound. The lid seal surface is positioned radially towards the chamber, and is placed opposite the chamber opening seal surface. An annular seal is interposed between the housing chamber and lid seal surfaces. The chamber and lid seal surfaces are configured generally perpendicular to the chamber opening, such that internal pressure within the chamber causes the concave center portion to impose a radially outwardly directed pressure onto the lid, thereby further compressing the annular seal to ensure a leak-tight seal.
Abstract:
A first housing with a polar magnet on a first side. The first housing can include an opening on the first side. A second housing can include a sliding latch. An opposite polar magnet attached to the sliding latch. The polar magnet attracts the opposite polar magnet on the sliding latch to move the sliding latch to a latched position.
Abstract:
A protein scaffold based on a consensus sequence of fibronectin type III (FN3) proteins, such as the tenth FN3 repeat from human fibronectin (human Tenascin), including isolated nucleic acids that encode a protein scaffold, vectors, host cells, and methods of making and using thereof have applications in diagnostic and/or therapeutic compositions, methods and devices. In particular, protein scaffold molecules binding to IgG have been identified as useful for diagnostic and/or therapeutic applications.
Abstract:
The invention provides methods for testing and ranking therapeutic antibody candidates for biophysical properties related to solubility and the susceptibility of the antibody to aggregate in aqueous solutions. The methods are useful for selecting among antibody libraries or variants for candidates which can be formulated at high concentrations.
Abstract:
A robotic device is manually driven along a perimeter of a Region Of Interest (ROI) or along a Path Of Interest (POI) for future autonomous operation. An Initial Point (IP) is established by identifying a unique machine recognizable feature, for example, a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag located at the IP. The robotic device is then manually driven along the perimeter or along the path and sensors carried by the robotic device collects data to characterize the ROI or POI. The sensors may include sonar, vision systems, laser, or radar devices for measuring relative positions of a wall, stairs, or obstacles. Wheel odometry may be used to track distances traveled and data fusion exercised to combine the odometry data with the sonar and/or laser measurements to model the ROI or POI. Characterization is performed by collecting points along a wall, fitting a line to the points, and finding the intersections of consecutive lines.
Abstract:
In general, in one aspect, the invention features systems, including a photonic crystal fiber including a core extending along a waveguide axis and a dielectric confinement region surrounding the core, the dielectric confinement region being configured to guide radiation along the waveguide axis from an input end to an output end of the photonic crystal fiber. The systems also includes a handpiece attached to the photonic crystal fiber, wherein the handpiece allows an operator to control the orientation of the output end to direct the radiation to a target location of a patient.
Abstract:
A hinge assembly is disclosed herein. An example includes a first knuckle including a first wall that defines a first cavity and second knuckle including a second wall that defines a second cavity. The example also includes a friction element disposed in both the first cavity defined by the first wall of the first knuckle and the second cavity defined by the second wall of the second knuckle to both rotatably and resistively couple the first knuckle to the second knuckle by application of a force directed toward the first wall and the second wall, the friction element including a third wall that defines a third cavity. Modifications and additions to, as well as other examples of, the hinge assembly are also disclosed herein.
Abstract:
IL4/IL13-binding proteins comprise binding domains, which inhibit IL4/IL13 binding to IL4Ralpaha and common gamma chain complexes (Type 1) and inhibit IL4 binding to IL4Ralpha and IL13Ralpha1 complexes (Type 2), and IL13 binding to IL13Ralpha1 and/or IL13Ralpha2, are useful in the treatment of cancer, inflammatory, and other pathological conditions, such as allergic or fibrotic conditions, especially pulmonary conditions.
