摘要： A linear motion rolling contact guide unit includes a rail elongated in shape, a slider slidably mounted on the rail and a plurality of rolling members interposed between the rail and the slider. The rail has a top surface, a pair of side surfaces and a bottom surface, and a guide groove is formed in each of the side surfaces with a tapered relief trench formed at the bottom of the guide groove. A side recess is also formed in each of the side surfaces. The slider is provided with an end seal having a first seal lip at each of front and rear ends and also with a bottom seal having a second seal lip. The first seal lip is in sliding contact with the top surface and also with the guide groove and the tapered relief trench and the second seal lip is in sliding contact with the side recess of the rail.

摘要： A gas sensor 1 includes an outer cylinder 18, a metallic shell 3, and a sensor element 2. The metallic shell 3 is disposed inside the outer cylinder 18. The sensor element 2 is disposed in a through-hole 30 formed in the metallic shell 3 and is adapted to detect a component of a gas to be measured. A sealing material layer 32 is mainly made of glass and is disposed between the inner surface of the metallic shell 3 and the outer surface of the sensor element 2. A cushion layer 34 formed of a porous inorganic substance is disposed in contact with the end of the sealing material layer 32 on the front-end side with respect to the axial direction of the sensor element 2. A cushion layer 33 formed of talc glass is disposed in contact with the end of the sealing material layer 32 on the rear-end side with respect to the axial direction of the sensor element 2. A gas sensor according to the present invention is especially adapted for use in a motorcycle and includes a sensor element having lower susceptibility to mechanical shock or thermal stress induced by different rates of contraction between a sealing material layer and an adjacent component element as well as excellent durability.

摘要： A detecting element is configured such that a second electrode is disposed on one side of a plate-like first electrode with a first solid electrolyte layer positioned therebetween and a third electrode is disposed on the other side of the first electrode with a second solid electrolyte layer positioned therebetween, thereby detecting migration of oxygen ions between the first electrode and the second electrode and migration of oxygen ions between the first electrode and the third electrode. Since the second electrode is disposed on one side of the plate-like first electrode with the first solid electrolyte layer positioned therebetween and the third electrode is disposed on the other side of the first electrode with the second solid electrolyte layer positioned therebetween, both planes of the detecting element functions as detecting planes and, to thus extend the directivity of detection in two directions. Since either the second electrode or the third electrode faces to the flow of exhaust gas, the inventive oxygen sensor can be brought in contact with exhaust gas earlier than a prior art oxygen sensor does. Accordingly, the response time of the inventive oxygen sensor becomes shorter than that of the prior art oxygen sensor.

摘要： A mileage display system includes a control unit operatively connected to an ignition switch of a motorcycle that obtains the accumulated mileage by accumulating a pulse signal produced according to running of the motorcycle. The control unit records odometer data in an EEPROM. The control unit also reads the odometer data recorded in the EEPROM when the ignition switch is operated. If the odometer data exceeds the maximum value to be displayed on an odometer (for example, 99999), the control unit displays on the odometer for a predetermined period of time a numeric value of digits of higher order than the predetermined number of display digits of the odometer data. The mileage display system displays an accurate, accumulated distance traveled or accumulated mileage, after the mileage overflows by exceeding a maximum display value as established by a predetermined number of display digits.

The instrument panel has a translucent dial, on the back side of which illuminating lamps are installed. A light sensor is located in the speedometer adjacent to indicators which display various kinds of information. Since the actual illumination on the instrument panel can be accurately detected in accordance with a result of detection by the light sensor, the luminance of the illuminating lamp can be controlled on the basis of the result of the detection, to thereby provide proper illumination for the rider's easy view of the instruments.

This arrangement results in shutting off operating sound from an injector of an engine having a cylinder head projecting in a transverse direction of a vehicle body.
