Device and method for processing samples are provided. A first multiwell plate is stacked atop a second multiwell plate. The first multiwell plate has x wells arranged in an array, each well is capable of receiving a sample and has an outlet. The second multiwell plate has y wells arranged in an array, each well being capable of receiving a separate sample. y>x. The outlets of the first multiwell plate register with inlets of a subset of wells of the second multiwell plate when the first plate is stacked atop the second plate. Also provided are a mechanism for aligning the plates and transfer indicia for tracking transfer of sample from the first to the second plate. A mechanism for sealing the first plate to the second plate is provided so that samples can be directly transferred between the plates without cross-contamination occurring in open wells of the second plate.

The present invention relates to systems and methods associated with selective wet etching and textured surface planarization. The systems and methods described herein can be used to etch a component of a multi-layer stack, such as a GaN layer. In some embodiments, the multi-layer stack can include a substrate having a patterned surface and a light generating region. The substrate can be removed from the first multi-layer stack to form a second multi-layer stack. In some embodiments, the pattern on the surface of the substrate can leave behind a pattern on a surface of the second multi-layer stack. Accordingly, in some cases, the surface of the second multi-layer stack can be wet etched, for example, to smoothen the surface. In some embodiments, removing the substrate can expose an N-face of a GaN layer, and the wet etch can be performed such that the N-face of the GaN layer is etched. In some embodiments, the multi-layer stack includes a light generating region and can be part of a light emitting device.

The functionality employs a heterogeneous architecture that comprises at least a first processing unit and a second processing unit. The first processing unit handles a first set of audio processing tasks (associated with the detection of speech) while the second processing unit handles a second set of audio processing tasks (associated with the identification of speakers), where the first set of tasks consumes less power than the second set of tasks. The functionality also provides unobtrusive techniques for collecting audio segments for training purposes. The present invention belongs to the field of polymerization and processing of polymer and relates to the preparation of a kind of functional polyolefin master batch. The functional master batch is produced by liquid phase, melt phase, or solid phase reaction after mixing the polyolefin resin, polyamine and guanidine salt oligomer, olefin monomer and initiator. The molecular structure of functional polyolefin master batch is shown below: wherein R is a polyamine and guanidine salt oligomer bonded onto polyolefin molecular chain by covalence bond, while S is one selected from hydrogen, chlorine, methyl, or phenyl group. Blending mentioned functional master batch with the corresponding polyolefin, the various antimicrobe products, such as fibers, film, pipe and other plastic articles can be obtained. Besides endowing products with excellent permanent antimicrobe property, it also provides fibers with good-dyeable and antistatic ability and bumpers with easy-paintable ability.
