    摘要: The present invention provides a method which can enhance the precision of identification of bacterial species using a T-RFLP method and achieve, by itself, the identification of bacteria constituting a bacterial flora and the tracing of distribution changes thereof. The present invention provides a method for analyzing a bacterial community including: amplifying DNAs extracted from a bacterial community by PCR using 16S rRNA genes as templates and fluorescently labeled primers; cleaving the amplification products with a restriction enzyme to thereby obtain sample PCR fragments; electrophoresing the sample PCR fragments together with size standard PCR fragments; and comparing the mobilities thereof to thereby determine the sizes of the sample PCR fragments, wherein PCR fragments amplified by using, as a template, a 16S rRNA gene derived from a bacterium contained in the bacterial community to be analyzed are used as the size standards.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for page-retrieval for use with an electronic display, especially suited for so-called electronic books, wherein a current relative position of a current page of the book and the number of times a page has previously been displayed are graphically displayed. A document image is stored in a document image storage unit and the document image is displayed on a computer screen. A number of display times storage unit stores the number of times each page has been viewed by a user. A relative location image control unit determines the relative location within the book image of a currently displayed page and the electronic book is displayed on the screen showing a visual indication of the relative position of the currently displayed page. The pages of the electronic book are color shaded by a number of display times image generation unit to give a visual indication of the relative number of times each page has been displayed to allow frequently displayed pages to be quickly located by a user. A marker can also be displayed on the screen to indicate pages marked by a user.

    摘要: Provided is a telescopic shaft having a coated section that reduces sliding resistance, with fluctuation of the sliding resistance according to sliding position of the telescopic shaft being reduced. A female shaft 16B is fitted onto a male shaft in a state of interference, and by causing the male shaft 16A to slide back-and-forth a specified number of times in the axial direction with respect to the female shaft 16B while applying, for example, a load in a direction that bends the male shaft 16A with respect to the female shaft 16B, friction heat is generated between side surfaces 411 of grooves 41 in the female shaft 16B and the coated section 61, which heats the coated section 61 and causes the coated section 61 to expand along the entire length in the axial direction of teeth 51 of the male shaft 16A. Therefore, the coated section 61 plastically deforms along the entire length in the axial direction of the teeth causing compressive strain to occur. By causing the male shaft 16A to slide back-and-forth with respect to the female shaft 16B in this state, the grooves 41 of the female shaft 16B and the teeth 51 of the male shaft 16A are uniformly in contact along the entire length in the axial direction, and thus sliding friction becomes constant along the entire length of the sliding range.

    摘要: A menu display device for indicating a relationship between a series of linked menu items that are listed in separate menus and displayed sequentially on a display screen to be selected by a cursor is disclosed. The plurality of menus are appropriately stored, and each menu item has a design for identifying their respective menu items. The menu items are connected so as to form a linked structure of the menus, and the linkage is also stored. A menu item display control unit is provided for retrieving the next menu, which is related to a selected menu item and for having that retrieved menu displayed by the display screen. A marker design generation unit can generate a new design, which includes at least a portion of the design for the menu item that was selected in the previous menu to thereby indicate, by the appearance of the cursor, a path through the linked menus.
