    摘要: In an image processing apparatus, a first conversion unit converts, on the basis of an input device profile, input data into first device-independent data expressed by a color space that is independent of an apparatus. A storage unit stores plural conversion profiles for converting using a color appearance model in the color space that is independent of the apparatus in correspondence with plural device characteristics that are dependent on apparatuses. A selection unit selects a conversion profile corresponding to characteristics of the input device, characteristics of an output device, observation conditions of the input data and the output data. A second conversion unit converts, on basis of the selected conversion profile, the first device-independent data into second device-independent data. A third conversion unit converts the second device-independent data into the output data on the basis of an output device profile.

    摘要: An image processing apparatus includes a setting unit and a correcting unit. The setting unit sets a gloss level of an image to be formed by forming plural toner images using a transparent toner and plural color toners having different colors and by fixing the plural toner images onto a recording medium in such a manner that the plural toner images are placed on top of one another on the recording medium. The correcting unit corrects image data defining density values per pixel of the toner images formed using the plural color toners of the respective colors so that a total density value that is a sum of a density value per pixel of the toner image formed using the transparent toner and density values per pixel of the toner images formed using the plural color toners of the respective colors may not exceed a predetermined threshold.

    摘要: In an ink amount limiting section 4, there are obtained ink amount limiting coefficients which are used to limit the ink amounts of the respective colors in such a manner that, where the maximum number of times of repeated printing with respect to a unit pixel that can prevent the ink from being blurred and from soaking up to the back surface of the record medium is set for a given value, the maximum number of times of ordinarily repeated printing within the unit pixel can provide a limited repeated printing conversion number equal to or less than the above-set given value. And, based on the thus obtained ink amount limiting coefficients and the image signals of the respective colors output from the &ggr; correcting section 3, print signals are generated and output. The print signals are quantized into the number of times of repeated printing in the halftoning section 5 according to a multi-level error diffusion method, and the thus quantized print signals are dot printed repeatedly in the printing section 6 to thereby form an image. In the print signals that are output from the ink amount limiting section 4, since the number of times of repeating ink drops is limited to the given value or less, the number of times of repeated dot printing by the printing section 6 is substantially equal to or less than the given number of times, thereby being able to reduce the possibility that the ink can be blurred and can soak up to the back surface of the record medium.

    摘要: An image processing apparatus includes a setting unit, a generating unit, and a converting unit. The setting unit sets a gloss level of each of plural areas into which an image is divided. The image is formed by forming plural toner images having different colors using plural first toners and at least one second toner having at least one same color as the first toners and by fixing the plural toner images onto a recording medium so as to be superimposed on one another. The generating unit generates multi-level image data for each of the first toners and the at least one second toner in accordance with the gloss levels set by the setting unit. The converting unit converts multi-level image data of toners having the same color into binary image data. The converting unit also converts multi-level image data of toners having different colors into binary image data.
