The object of the present invention is to provide a fabric treating agent to satisfy good sewability required to interior material fabrics for vehicles including automobiles and trains, the good sewability which arises from the trend toward ultrafiner fibers for manufacturing the fabrics, change in fabric structure from weave to knit, and increasing sewing machine speed.The present invention provides the fabric treating agent comprising at least one wax (a) selected from the group consisting of a paraffin wax having a melting point of 60° C. or higher, an oxidized paraffin wax having a melting point of 60° C. or higher, a polyethylene wax having a melting point of 100° C. or higher, and an oxidized polyethylene wax having a melting point of 100° C. or higher; and a nonionic surfactant (b). The present invention also provides a process for producing fabrics applied with the fabric treating agent, and provides vehicle interior material fabrics.

Heat-expandable microspheres include a shell of thermoplastic resin and a blowing agent encapsulated therein having a boiling point not higher than the softening point of the thermoplastic resin, have a maximum expanding ratio not lower than 50 times, and are thermally expanded into hollow particulates having a repeated-compression durability not lower than 75 percent. The method of producing the heat-expandable microspheres includes the steps of dispersing an oily mixture containing a polymerizable component and the blowing agent in an aqueous dispersing medium containing a specific water-soluble compound and polymerizing the polymerizable component contained in the oily mixture.

The present invention provides a process for producing thermo-expansive microspheres comprising a thermoplastic resinous shell and a blowing agent being encapsulated in the shell, the blowing agent which is a fluorine-containing C2-10 compound having ether linkage, being free of chlorine and bromine atoms and gasifying at a temperature not higher than the softening point of the thermoplastic resin. The thermo-expansive microspheres have preferably an average particle size ranging from 1 to 100 μm and a CV, or coefficient of variation, of particle size distribution being 30% or less, and a retaining ratio of blowing agent encapsulated being 90% or more.

The present invention provides a process for producing porous structure having similar properties to that of the porous structure produced with conventional urethane resin solution in organic solvent and suitable for artificial leather, wherein the environmental pollution in the production process with a urethane resin solution in organic solvent and adverse effect on human health caused from remained organic solvent are solved and the problems caused from nonuniform pores produced with urethane resin emulsion are solved.The present invention also provides a production process for porous structure wherein an aqueous urethane resin emulsion to which a highly crystalline substance comprising of a diisocyanate and low-molecular-weight diol is added, or an aqueous emulsion of urethane resin containing the said highly crystalline substance in its polymer chain is heated and gelled with steam with the presence of a pore-forming agent for stabilizing the gel of the said aqueous urethane resin emulsion in the heating and gelling process, and then the gelled aqueous urethane resin emulsion is heated and dried for forming the space of the water into porous structure. In addition, the present invention also provides a process for producing porous structure wherein an aqueous urethane resin emulsion is heated and gelled with steam with the presence of at least one of those selected from the group comprising silica, colloidal silica, silicic acid and silicate for stabilizing the gel of the said aqueous urethane resin emulsion in heating and gelling, and is heated and dried for forming the space of the water into porous structure.

A light-weight sound absorbing and insulating plastic sheet material which exhibits an excellent sound absorbing and insulating effect even in the low- and medium-pitched sound range for use in building materials and sound-proof walls and a sound absorbing and insulating plastic panel using the plastic sheet material are provided. The sound absorbing and insulating plastic sheet material of the present invention comprises a plastic sheet-formed substance and magnetic fluid-enclosing capsules contained in the sheet-formed substance. The sound absorbing and insulating plastic panel of the present invention comprises the above-mentioned sound absorbing and insulating plastic sheet material and a fiber-reinforced plastic sheet bound to at least one side of the sheet material. The sound absorbing and insulating plastic sheet material and the sound absorbing and insulating plastic panel of the present invention are excellent also in electromagnetic wave shielding effect.
