    摘要: An apparatus and method for piercing a metering disc from a workpiece of a fuel injector. The metering disc includes first and second surfaces that extend substantially parallel to a base plane. The first and second surfaces are spaced along a longitudinal axis that extends orthogonal with respect to the base plane. The apparatus includes a piercing tool that extends along a tool axis, a planar coordinate positioning mechanism, and a spherical coordinate positioning mechanism. The piercing tool is adapted to penetrate the workpiece. The planar coordinate positioning mechanism displaces parallel to the longitudinal axis of the piercing tool relative to the workpiece. And the spherical coordinate positioning mechanism pivots about the tool axis relative at least one of three axes.

    摘要: A satellite sensor assembly includes a plastic sensor housing that is mounted to a vehicle structure comprised of sheet metal. The sensor housing includes a transversely extending tab that is received within an opening formed in the sheet metal. The tab includes a pair of crush ribs that extend along the length of the tab. The ribs deform as the tab is inserted through the opening to achieve an interference fit. The inference fit serves to hold the housing in place until the housing can be separately fastened to the sheet metal with a fastener.

    摘要: A method provides wiring associated with a flange of a fuel delivery module for use in a fuel tank of a vehicle. The method includes molding a plastic flange 12 of a fuel delivery module, with the flange defining an inside region 11 and an outside region 7. At least one terminal 20′ is provided that is accessible from the outside region of the flange. An electrical connection 28 is established between the at least one terminal and a wire 16′. In one embodiment, plastic material 25 is molded directly over a) the connection 28, b) at least a portion 32 of the wire 16′ and c) at least a portion 34 of the terminal 20′ to seal the connection, the portion of the wire, and the portion of the terminal between the inside region and outside region of the flange. In another embodiment a pre-formed plastic body encapsulates the connection 28 and the body is placed in a flange mold and plastic material is over molded to encapsulate the portion of the terminal while molding the flange.

The magnetic field data points produce an expected curve in the coordinate system. The rotation of the vehicle is tracked relative to the surrounding magnetic field based upon the compass tracking angles and whether the vehicle has rotated a desired amount is determined based at least partially upon the expected curve and the compass tracking angles.

    摘要: A method of making a metering orifice disc from a work piece is disclosed. The work piece has a first surface spaced apart from a second surface over a first distance. The metering orifice disc has an outer diameter from 4 to 6 millimeters with at least one orifice disposed through the metering disc of about 75 to 150 microns in effective diameter. The method can be achieved by removing material from one of the first and second surfaces of the work piece to define a recessed surface between first and second walls, the recessed surface being located between the first and second surfaces of the work piece; and forming an orifice in the recessed surface proximate a shortest distance between the first and second walls to define two channels that extend towards the longitudinal axis, the orifice extends through the recessed surface to one of the first and second surfaces. A method of making a valve seat is also described.
