Abstract: An orthodontic separator including a substrate including at least one resilient material configured to produce and maintain an outward force for a predetermined time period between adjacent teeth, wherein the substrate includes a plurality of layers including polymer fibers having a fluoride compound incorporated therein or that coats a surface thereof. The plurality of layers is arranged concentrically and configured such that the plurality of layers of the substrate successively dissolve or disintegrate within the predetermined time period when disposed between those adjacent teeth, whereby the separator dissolves or disintegrates.

Abstract: A method that includes collecting scrap ZrO2 material; reducing sizes of the scrap ZrO2 material to produce a reduced-size scrap ZrO2 material; preparing a ceramic slurry comprising the reduced-size scrap ZrO2 material, deionized water, and at least one dispersant; milling the ceramic slurry to produce a milled ZrO2 slurry, wherein the milled ZrO2 slurry comprises a ZrO2 powder with a particle size distribution D(50) of 0.05 μm to 1.0 μm; and casting the milled ZrO2 slurry to prepare a ceramic block.

Abstract: Orthodontic arch wires with specific shapes and bends designed to encourage expansion of the posterior teeth while preventing the flaring of anterior teeth during the alignment phase. The arch wires divide the dentition into sections and treat each section differently so as to minimize undesirable effects during the alignment process. While the arch wires of the present invention are used to improve mechanics with non-extraction, they can also be used in extraction cases to avoid round tripping and some iatrogenic side effects that can occur by engaging all the teeth at the same time. The arch wires of the present invention can be preformed or customized to each case. The arch wires of the present invention are generally of two types referred to as sectional (S-RA) wires and consolidation (C-RA) wires.

Abstract: A dental dam clamp and method comprising an aperture frame, a first opposing jaw, and a second opposing jaw is disclosed.
