Abstract:
Polymeric dispersants are disclosed that include an acrylic backbone at least one pendantly attached imide group, wherein the carbonyl of the imide are chemically bonded to a fused aromatic ring. The aromatic ring can be substituted with various electron withdrawing or releasing groups. Desirably dispersant also includes solvent-solubilising chains of polyether, polyester, polyacrylate, and or polyolefin.

Abstract:
An electrophotographic photoreceptor includes a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer disposed on the conductive substrate. An outermost surface layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor contains fluorine-containing resin particles and a fluorine-containing graft polymer having a fluorinated alkyl group. In an infrared absorption spectrum of the fluorine-containing graft polymer, a ratio of a peak area in a wavenumber range of from 1,020 cm−1 to 1,308 cm−1 to a peak area in a wavenumber range of from 1,673 cm−1 to 1,779 cm−1 is 2.7 or more and 4.8 or less.
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a modified acrylic resin cured product, particularly, a modified acrylic resin film, having excellent lubricity and excellent transparency, and a laminate including the modified acrylic resin film. The modified acrylic resin cured product (C) according to the present invention is obtained by treating the surface of a cured product (X) including an acrylic resin by using a compound (A) containing, in each molecule, one or more anionic hydrophilic groups forming an ion pair with an onium ion of an amino silicone, and one or more groups selected from the group consisting of a group containing a polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond, an amino group, a mercapto group and a hydroxy group.
Abstract:
The present teachings show that it is possible to polymerize 1,1-disubstituted alkene compounds in an emulsion (for example using a water based carrier liquid), despite the possible reactions between the monomer and water. Polymerization of 1,1-disubstituted alkene compounds in an emulsion provides opportunities to better control the polymerization compared with bulk polymerization. The emulsion polymerization techniques can be employed for preparing homopolymers, copolymers (e.g., random copolymers), and block copolymers.
Abstract:
A composition including PPF or a PPF copolymer that can be used to fabricate biodegradable structures. The composition can be used in 3-D patterning (e.g., 3-D printing and sterolighography) methods. For example, 3-D patternable compositions include PPF or a PPF copolymer, a photoinitiator or photoinitiators, and a resolution control inhibitor or inhibitors. The compositions can be used to make biodegradable structures (such as cardivascular scaffolds). The biodegradable structures can be surface functionalized. The biodegradable structures can be used in methods of blood delivery in an individual.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a pigment dispersant that exhibits high fine dispersibility, stability, and fluidity in a small amount, a pigment dispersion liquid including the pigment dispersant, and a process of producing the pigment dispersant and pigment dispersion liquid. The pigment dispersant contains as a main component, a graft copolymer formed through living radical polymerization using two or more monomers including a methacrylate A having an acidic group or a basic group and a methacrylate-based macromonomer B having a methacrylate residue at one terminal of a particular polymer chain that has a molecular weight of from 500 to 5000. A ratio of a total molar number of the methacrylate-based monomers relative to 1 mol of a polymerization-initiating compound in the raw material monomers is from 20 to 50 based on 1 mol. A ratio of the B component-derived polymer chain to the graft copolymer is from 50 to 90 mass % expressed as a mass ratio.
