摘要: Radiation-curable coating compositions for a surface such as a concrete floor, which include at least one multi-functional monomer or oligomer, at least one photoinitiator, at least one glossy band matting agent, and at least one matte band matting agent are described and claimed. These low gloss coating compositions allow for application of the coating composition over an area larger than a UV radiation source, while minimizing the formation of gloss bands or gloss lines that exhibit a different level of gloss in the areas where light leakage from a side light shielding of the UV radiation source results in a very weak radiation intensity, as compared to the areas subjected to high radiation intensity. These low gloss coating compositions are optionally clear topcoat compositions. In addition, a method for coating a surface with a radiation-curable coating composition that results in a cured surface with minimal differences in gloss exhibited following curing by a UV radiation source, and a surface coated with the radiation curable coating compositions of the instant claimed invention are described and claimed.

摘要: The invention provides a composition containing a colorant and a sealer which is applied to a floor surface for the purpose of coloring or tinting the floor. The sealer may be an acrylic copolymer or a styrene acrylic copolymer. The composition can be applied to a variety of floor surfaces, including vinyl tile and concrete. The solids content of the composition varies depending upon whether a tint or solid color is desired. In addition, the invention provides a method of applying and maintaining a hard floor coating. The method includes preparing the floor surface, sealing the floor surface, applying a colored polymer to the sealed surface, and applying a clear, non-epoxy floor finish.

摘要: A method of decreasing wear on flexible bodies caused by rubbing on rigid surfaces is shown. The rigid surface is coated with a paraffin composition, preferably paraffin or petroleum wax. Improved stability of the composition, with time, is obtained by incorporating, in the composition, an additive such as polyethylene. The compositions are applied to rigid surfaces such as concrete by spraying or by roller application. In the former case the compressed air for the spray gun and the surface to be coated are heated. The coatings may be advantageously applied to concrete tracks upon which air cushion (hover) vehicles are guided.

摘要: The present invention is directed at coatings for oven bake clay that when applied make the surface of the resulting object food safe. Among the many different possibilities contemplated, the coating may contain one or more food safe plastics that may be in particle form and may form suspensions or colloids when mixed with water, food safe oil or other food safe liquids to ease application. Among the many potential additional ingredients contemplated, the coating may contain one or more surfactants to improve the formation of a suspension or colloid or one or more food safe dyes so that the oven bake clay can be painted. Among the many methods of making the coating contemplated, the components may be mixed to form a suspension or colloid through one or more of agitation, stirring or sonication. It is further contemplated that the coating may be applied to an unbaked oven bake clay object and then baked or alternatively applied to a baked oven bake clay object and then re-baked.
