Abstract:
A furniture hinge (10) comprises a first cup-shaped element (11) and a second arm-shaped element (12) pivoted together to rotate reciprocally from an open position to a closed position. The arm-shaped element (12) is made of sheet metal with one end (20) bent to wind round a hinge pin (21) supported in the cup (11). The bent end of the arm-shaped element (12) also defines bearing surfaces (22) for a double twist pressure spring (23) which pushes the first and second element towards the closed position starting from a position close to the latter. A U-bolt forms the hinge pin (21) and a pin (26) supporting the spring.
Abstract:
For the purpose of holding a slide door of a vehicle at its fully opened position, a catch lever is provided on a bracket which is pivotally mounted on the slide door and a stopper means is additionally provided on the bracket to prevent the excessive pivoting of the catch lever. Because of the pivotable mounting of the bracket and the provision of the stopper means, the catch lever is prevented from being interfered by a curved portion of the guide rail guiding the sliding motion of the slide door for smooth opening and closing of the door and the device is free from any pronounced protrusion on the part of both the door and the guide rail.
Abstract:
A device for stopping and holding a sliding door on a vehicle in the open position includes a sheet metal support fixed to the door, a V-shaped lever pivoted on the support and a guide rail having a spaced apart triangular projection and end stop for cooperation with a pivoted lever. The distance between the triangular projection and the end stop is such that in the last portion of the opening strip of the door one of the slopes of the projection causes the lever to rotate against the action of a spring and that in the open position of the door the free end of an arm of the lever will abut against the end stop and the roller carried by the other end of the lever will abut against a side of the triangular projection which is inclined toward the end stop.
Abstract:
An emergency door closing device that can be installed upon existing doors and hinges to automatically close doors in the response to smoke and fire. The improvements incorporated therein include a hinge cam pivot member that attaches to an existing hinge member of a door and produces a moment force about the existing hinge member allowing a reduced force necessary to pivot the door into a closed position. Further, a novel spring, cam, and lever system is incorporated to activate the moment force to close the door.
Abstract:
A hideable bay window is provided. The hideable bay window comprises a window frame, a first horizontal turning plate, a second horizontal turning plate, a vertical translation plate, a first vertical sliding assembly, and a second vertical sliding assembly. The hidable bay window further comprises a pair of bottom support mechanisms. Compared to traditional windows, the present window can be transformed between a fixed window status and a bay window status smoothly and allows the space for the windows to be set according to the needs of the user.
Abstract:
A drive assembly configured to adjust a motor vehicle closure element including a clutch assembly provided with an input connection and an output connection. The clutch assembly includes a main braking element, configured to brake a movement from the output side, and a freewheel assembly configured to engage the main braking element from movement of the output side and disengage the main braking element by means of a movement from the input side. The brake assembly includes an auxiliary braking element configured to produce a predetermined permanent braking action by means of which the auxiliary braking element acts at least against the movement introduced on the output side, and that the predetermined permanent braking action of the auxiliary braking element has to be overcome to enable the freewheel assembly to disengage.
Abstract:
An exemplary trim assembly comprises an escutcheon, a drive spindle, a lock mechanism, a cam mechanism, and a driver. The drive spindle is mounted to the escutcheon for rotation about a longitudinal axis. The lock mechanism includes a lock gear movably mounted in the escutcheon. The cam mechanism includes a first cam defined by the escutcheon and a second cam defined by the lock gear. The driver is operable to rotate the lock gear between a first rotational position and a second rotational position. The cam mechanism is configured to longitudinally drive the lock gear from a first longitudinal position to a second longitudinal position as the lock gear rotates from the first rotational position to the second rotational position. Movement of the lock gear between the first longitudinal position and the second longitudinal position transitions the lock mechanism between a locked state and an unlocked state.
Abstract:
It is described herein a venting apparatus for an opening in a roof. The venting apparatus for an opening in a roof may comprise a structural frame, an adapter, a mount, a hinge, and a latch. The adapter may comprise a frame adapter section, a lip extending inwardly from a portion of the frame adapter section inner surface, and a protrusion extending upwardly from the lip. The frame adapter section may be configured to fit around an outer surface of the structural frame while the mount may be configured to fit around an outer surface of the protrusion. The latch may be configured to receive a signal from a device when the device detects the presence of smoke within the building to cause the latch to change from a latch closed position to a latch opened position.
Abstract:
A pivot hinge includes a spring housing with a central tube, a spring assembly, an upper mounting plate, and a lower mounting plate. The bottom end includes a knurled outer surface. A stop cam is positioned about the knurled outer surface and has an inner surface that conform to the knurled outer surface so that it may be positioned in a plurality of rotatable positions relative to the central tube. The stop cam also has an exterior surface which includes a detent. The different rotational positions of the stop cam upon the knurled outer surface changes the relative position of the detent in relationship to the central tube. A cam follower assembly is coupled to the lower mounting plate and has a cam follower plate with a cam follower that rides upon the stop cam and engages the detent recess to hold the door in an open position.
Abstract:
An apparatus comprises a base plate configured to be coupled to a door, the door configured to be positioned in an open position and a closed position; a closing mechanism coupled to the base plate and configured to be coupled to a hinge of the door and having an unprimed state and a primed state, the closing mechanism configured to be transitioned between the unprimed state and the primed state by a user; wherein in the unprimed state the closing mechanism is decoupled from operation of the door; and in the primed state the closing mechanism is configured to move the door into the closed position responsive to receipt of a signal, and the closing mechanism is configured to allow movement of the door between the open position and the closed position in absence of the signal.
