    摘要: In an internal combustion engine (2) of a portable handheld work apparatus, the cylinder (3) is provided with cooling ribs (4, 4′). A cooling airflow is generated by the fan wheel (13) and is guided over the cooling ribs. A carburetor (9) is temperaturized as required by the heated cooling air. A control of the cooling airflow to the carburetor (9) takes place in that an opening (11), which passes the heated cooling air, is selectively closed or opened via a closure element (12). In order to obtain improved cooling of the cylinder during summer operation as well as during winter operation, the closure element (12) is provided with at least one air guide wall which extends essentially transversely to the cooling airflow and causes this cooling air to be partially backed up and deflected.

    摘要: A motor-driven implement such as a hand-held tool or device for garden and landscape maintenance, includes an internal combustion engine having at least one cylinder and at least one carburettor, which is disposed in a carburettor chamber, is separated by an intermediate wall from an engine compartment. A housing is provided which at least partially encloses the engine compartment so that an upper part of the cylinder extends in the direction of the housing, and a fan wheel is further provided by which means air from the engine compartment can be introduced through a warm air opening in the intermediate wall into the carburettor chamber. For the motor-driven implement to have an improved carburettor pre-heating which enables easier operation, it is proposed that the warm air opening is disposed in the area of the intermediate wall which is disposed adjacently to the upper part of the cylinder.

    摘要: To a first bank B1 and a second bank B2, a first throttle body T1 and a second throttle body T2 placed between the banks B1, B2 are attached, respectively, in such a manner that an axis A3 of an intake path 8 of each of the first throttle body T1 and the second throttle body T2 is substantially perpendicular to an axis A2 of a corresponding one of the banks B1, B2. Each of the throttle bodies T1, T2 has a throttle valve 9 pivotally supported therein and the fuel injection valve 10 injecting fuel to the intake path 8 at a part downstream of the throttle valve 9. The throttle valve 9 of each of the first and second throttle bodies T1, T2 is placed in such a manner that an axis A4 of a valve shaft 9a of the throttle valve 9 is substantially orthogonal to the axis A3 of the corresponding intake path 8 and is substantially parallel to the axis A2 of a corresponding one of the banks B1, B2. Accordingly, it can easily prevent a large amount of condensation from being generated and freezing around the valve shaft of a throttle valve even in a cold weather.

    摘要: In an engine air cleaner, a suction opening (50) communicating with outside air and a discharge opening (16) communicating with an engine (E) are provided in an upper cover body (11) of a cleaner cover (10), a cleaner element unit (Ue) for cleaning the outside air sucked in via the suction opening (50) is housed within the upper cover body (11), and a skirt wall (11a) of the upper cover body (11) in the vicinity of the suction opening (50) extends further downward than the suction opening (50). This prevents raindrops running down the outer face of the cleaner cover body (11) from being sucked into the interior of the air cleaner via the suction opening (50). Further, a seal packing (68) and the cleaner element unit (Ue) are superimposed and fitted onto an outer periphery of an intake passage (17) within the cleaner cover body (10), the seal packing (68) preventing outside air from leaking directly into the discharge opening (16), and the seal packing (68) is provided with a retaining projection (75) that is tightly engaged with the intake passage (17). This prevents the seal packing (68) from being unintentionally detached from the cleaner cover body (10) when replacing the cleaner element unit (Ue), etc., thus preventing assembly of the seal packing (68) from being forgotten or the seal packing (68) from being lost. Furthermore, an air cleaner (AC) is disposed so as to be side by side with one side of the engine (E), a lower part of the cleaner cover body (10) is joined integrally to and supported on the engine (E) together with a carburetor (4) via a pair of connecting bolts (22, 23), and a reinforcing vertical wall portion (37) of the cleaner cover body (10) facing the engine (E) across a gap is joined integrally to and supported on the engine (E) via another connecting bolt (24). This enhances the rigidity with which the air cleaner is supported on the engine (E).
