    摘要: A dog clutch operable to bypass a variator of a transmission is disclosed. The dog clutch includes a housing engaged with an input ring of the variator. The dog clutch also includes a piston engaged with the housing and movable from a first position in which the piston is disengaged from an output ring of the variator to a second position in which the piston is engaged with the output ring. The variator input ring and output ring are locked together when the dog clutch is in the second position to prevent the variator from producing continuously variable torque output. The variator is operable to produce continuously-variable torque output when the dog clutch is in the first position.

    摘要: A clutch arrangement includes a shift piston and a piston housing. The shift piston is arranged to be displaced in an axial direction relative to the piston housing between at least one gear position and a neutral position. The clutch arrangement also includes a spring element for forcing the shift piston towards the neutral position. The clutch arrangement includes a first return piston and a second return piston arranged on opposite sides of the spring element, and the spring element is accommodated within a recess of the shift piston and is pretensioned between the first return piston and the second return piston. In the neutral position the first return piston is forced by the spring element against a first stop element of the shift piston, defining an end position for the first return piston relative to the shift piston, and the second return piston is forced by the spring element against a second stop element of the shift piston, defining an end position for the second return piston relative to the shift piston.

    摘要: A transmission clutch module includes first and second races, and a plurality of race engagement mechanisms situated between the races. The module incorporates an integrated hydraulic actuator having an actuator cam ring that includes cam ramps configured for moving the race engagement mechanisms between positions adapted to selectively interact with the races. As such, the actuator, designed to be contained entirely within a generally circumferential envelope of the clutch module, may control rotation of the actuator cam ring between at least two spaced angular positions in at least one embodiment. In various other embodiments within the scope of this disclosure, the actuator cam ring may be adapted to rotate among any number of pre-determined positions to operatively permit or prevent the transmittal of torque between the first and second races.
