    摘要: The purpose of this invention is to describe a new process for the manufacture of choroethene (C.sub.2 H.sub.3 Cl). This new process involves the use or ethylene (C.sub.2 H.sub.4) as a feedstock. Highly chlorinated ethenes or methanes are used as chlorinating agents. The corresponding less chlorinated ethenes or methanes are recovered as co-products or recycled to the process to produce additional chloroethene. The distribution of the products may be adjusted so that chloroethene is the major product.

    摘要: A novel process for the preparation of a chlorinated polyolefin having excellent low temperature characteristics and brightness is provided which comprises allowing a polyolefin dissolved or suspended in a solvent to undergo chlorination reaction with chlorine gas or chlorinated sulfuryl in the presence of a radical initiator as a catalyst, characterized in that as said solvent there is used 1,1,2-trichloroethane and the temperature is controlled to 90.degree. C. or lower at the process for removing hydrogen chloride and/or sulfur dioxide by-produced during the reaction from the reaction system. A further process for the preparation of a chlorosulfonated polyolefin having excellent low temperature characteristics and brightness is provided which comprises allowing a polyolefin dissolved or suspended in a solvent to undergo chlorosulfonation reaction with chlorine and sulfur dioxide, chlorine and sulfuryl chloride, sulfuryl chloride alone, chlorine, sulfur dioxide and sulfuryl chloride or sulfuryl chloride and sulfur dioxide in the presence of a radical initiator as a catalyst, characterized in that as said solvent there is used 1,1,2-trichloroethane and the temperature is controlled to 90.degree. C. or lower at the process for removing hydrogen chloride and/or sulfur dioxide by-produced during the reaction from the reaction system.

    摘要: A non-polluting oxyhydrochlorination process is provided in which the residual gaseous effluents are purified by catalytic oxidation in the presence of a catalyst comprising platinum and/or iridium deposited on a special alumina support of eta crystallographic structure and then washing the effluent before being discharged into the atmosphere.The process of the invention is particularly applicable to a residual effluent containing essentially carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, ethylene, 1,2-dichloroethane, and at least one chlorinated hydrocarbon from among the group consisting of chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, ethyl chloride, 1,1-dichloroethane, 1,1,1- and 1,1,]-trichloroethanes, 1,1,2,2- and 1,1,1,2- tetrachloroethanes, vinyl chloride, 1,1- and 1,2-dichloroethylenes, trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene and chloral.

    摘要: Process for the selective catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide in the presence of olefin monomers without appreciable oxidation of such monomers. According to this process, a gaseous waste stream containing carbon monoxide, olefin monomers, and a variety of other agents, is contacted with a catalytically effective amount of copper chromite, preferably in an oxygen enriched environment, at temperatures in the range from about 200.degree. C. to about 325.degree. C. The contact time of the stream with the catalyst bed can vary within broad limits, and the duration of which will vary inversely with the temperature of the catalyst bed.
