Abstract:
Rust preventing synthetic resin compositions to be added to cement or mortar, which have high strength, adhesion and waterproof, contain 0.05.about.5 parts by weight of a primary alkanol-amine having 2 to 8 carbon atoms based on 100 parts by weight of resin solid content in a synthetic resin emulsion.
Abstract:
A powder adhesive composition having cement, a dispersible polymer powder; and at least 10% volume of the powder adhesive is an expanded perlite. The cement is at a ratio of between 600-1000% of the mass of the expanded perlite. The powder adhesive composition is an adhesive, and the adhesion strength of the adhesive, is over 0.4 MPa, after 28 days, and after water immersion for at least 20 days.
Abstract:
Techniques and compositions for applying films to a variety of substrates, from water-borne coating compositions, are provided. The techniques involve providing desiccant and applying the desiccant with water-borne film-forming composition, in application to a substrate. The desiccant composition provides for take up of free water in of the film-forming composition, without total reliance on ambient conditions, to advantage. Compositions, methods, techniques and resulting constructions are described. The techniques can be applied in wet thick film applications, but are not limited to such applications.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a dry gypsum composition containing hemihydrate gypsum, at least one pigment and a crystal habit modifier. The crystal habit modifier is at least one compound selected from the group consisting of sulfate salts, carboxylate salts, carbonate salts and inorganic chlorides, and a content of the at least one compound is in a range of 0.1 to 5 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the hemihydrate gypsum, whereby upon hydration of the hemihydrate gypsum into dihydrate gypsum, the dihydrate gypsum is controlled to become plate crystals having an aspect ratio of 1 to 9. A gypsum-based coating formulation making use of the dry gypsum composition is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The invention provides an admixture for a hydraulic binder composition comprising at least one cationic polymer and at least one anionic polymer, at least one of these polymers having a comb type of structure, wherein the mass ratio of the anionic polymer/cationic polymer is from 99.9/0.1 to 60/40.It also provides a process for its preparation as well as its use as a plasticizer.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a hydraulic binder whose main constituent is cement to which a mixture comprised of a chromate reducer and a carrier material is added for chromate reduction. The chromate reducer contains two iron(II) sulfate components, with the first component is made of filter salt from the titanium dioxide production, to which a mineral acid regulator, particularly ground limestone, is added. The second component is moist copperas. The hydraulic binder according to the invention is cost-effective and has chromate contents that are considerably lower than the legally permitted limit. The invention also relates to the use of a mixture of filter salt and copperas as a chromate reducer for reducing water-soluble chromate contents in cement.
Abstract:
Compounded polymeric compositions containing processed paint sludge putty as a replacement for polymeric components are provided. The paint sludge comprises from about 5 to 90% by weight of the total compounded polymeric composition and may be decatalyzed so that it contains uncured polymer for use in a variety of compositions including pressure sensitive sealants, caulking sealants, automotive sealants, polyvinyl chloride plastics, rubbers and asphalt cement coatings.
Abstract:
A system for forming a coating on a substrate is provided. The system includes a first mix having a cement, a filler, a defoamer, a cement retarder, a dispersing agent, or any combination thereof. The system additionally includes a second mix having a fatty acid derivative, a synthetic resin, one or more organosilicon compounds, a pigment, a thickener, or any combination thereof. A coating composition is formed by mixing the first and second mix together. Lastly, the system includes a spraying apparatus that applies a wet film to the substrate wherein the cured coating does not yield to wet-rubs and does not stain (effloresce) with cold distilled water.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to corrosion resistant coating compositions, kits and methods of applying the same, for use as fireproofing materials. The corrosion resistant spray applied fire resistant material contains an organic corrosion inhibitors, such as an aldonic acid, benzoic acid, or combinations thereof, to reduce or eliminate corrosion of the underlying substrate.
