Abstract:
A solvent-free composition contains the following components: 2,4,7,9-tetramethyl-5-decyne-4,7-diol, ethoxylates thereof, and polyethylene glycols, wherein the composition contains water and wherein the concentration of 2,4,7,9-tetramethyl-5-decyne-4,7-diol is greater than 40% by weight, based on the composition.
Abstract:
This invention provides a polymer that is useful in a variety of applications, including as a binder polymer of a coating composition, and especially a packaging coating composition. Packaging articles (e.g., containers) comprising the polymer and methods of making such packaging articles are also provided.
Abstract:
A composite structure is provided, which includes a support, an active layer wrapping the support, a dendrimer grafted to the active layer through covalent bondings, and a plurality of anti-fouling groups, wherein each of the anti-fouling groups is grafted to terminals of the dendrimer through covalent bondings. The terminals of the dendrimer include amino group, hydroxyl group, or thiol group.
Abstract:
A composite gel in one aspect of the present disclosure comprises a substance prepared by gelling a raw material composition that comprises, as main components, a hydroxyl group-containing organic polymer compound and one of a hydroxyl group-containing inorganic compound and an inorganic oxide. A method for manufacturing the composite gel in one aspect of the present disclosure comprises a first process of gelling a raw material composition that comprises, as main components, a hydroxyl group-containing organic polymer compound and at least one of a hydroxyl group-containing inorganic compound or an inorganic oxide; and a second process of drying and subsequently pulverizing a resulting product in the first process to thereby obtain a composite gel fine powder.
Abstract:
A surfactant composition is provided. The composition comprises (A) an acetylenediol ethoxylate capped by a glycidyl ether represented by the following structural formula (I): wherein R1 is hydrogen atom, or a C1-6 straight chain, branched or cyclic alkyl group, R2 is a C1-12 straight chain, branched or cyclic alkyl group, R3 is —CH2OR4, R4 is a C2-30 straight chain, branched or cyclic alkyl group, alkenyl group, aryl group, or aralkyl group, n, m, p, and q are a positive number with the average of (n+m) being 1 to 100, and the average of (p+q) being 0.5 to 5), and (B) a silicone surfactant. The coating solution prepared by blending the surfactant composition of the present invention can be coated without causing inconsistency since it does not experience foaming when coated on the rubber article, and industrially advantageous production of a rubber article with non-sticky surface is thereby enabled.
Abstract:
Method for the water removal from a surface, which comprises covering the surface with a composition having specific weight higher than that of the water, and subsequently removing water from the composition by skimming, such composition comprising a (per)fluoropolyether having molecular weight comprised between 300 and 1500 and a non ionic additive having a (perfluoropolyethereal structure similar to that of the solvent, linked to an hydrogenated part of hydrophilic type, the molecular weight of the (per)fluorinated part is comprised between 400 and 1200 and the ratio by weight between (per)fluorinated part and hydrogenated part is comprised between 1.5 and 3.5.
Abstract:
Curable, crosslinkable compositions and coatings prepared therefrom that can be used to form low-surface energy liners that can be used with aggressive pressure-sensitive adhesives, such as adhesives formed from silicone resins. The release characteristics of these coatings do not diminish upon aging and do not adversely affect the readhesion properties of adhesives that have-come in contact with the coatings. The invention further provides substrates bearing a layer of the composition of the invention. These coated substrates are particularly suitable for release liners, especially differential release liners and low-adhesion backsizes for pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes and sheet materials, especially for pressure-sensitive adhesives derived from silicone resins. Because the coatings of this invention can have more than 50% by weight inert oils without significantly reducing the readhesion of adhesives removed from them, they provide an economic advantage over those coatings prepared by using only the more expensive reactive group-containing polyfluoropolyethers.
Abstract:
A thermoplastic laminated film that has satisfactory adhesiveness to hydrophilic polymers, hydrophobic polymers, and inorganic substances is provided. The film comprises a base film made of thermoplastic resin and a layer formed on at least one side of said base film, wherein said layer is made of a composition comprising (a) at least one selected from the group consisting of water-soluble resins, water-emulsifiable resins, and water-dispersible resins, and (b) an organic boron polymer or a mixture composed of an organic boron polymer and vinyl alcohol polymer.
Abstract:
There is provided a curable substantially uniform mixture of an epoxysilicone, a polyarylonium salt and a compatibilizer in the form a mixture of a long chain alkyl substituted phenol and an alkane diol. The curable mixture is convertable to a non-toxic, tack free adherent release coating for pressure sensitive adhesives.
