    摘要: A remote control apparatus is constituted by a command encoding device and a command decoding device. In the command encoding device, a timing pulse generator indicates the beginning and end of a time interval of a length which is a function of a command to be encoded, a pulse of the first duration shorter than said time interval is initiated in response to said beginning of the time interval, a pulse of a second duration different from said first duration and shorter than said time interval is initiated in response to said end of the time interval, and said pulses of said first and second duration respectively, are sequentially transmitted in the command decoding device, upon the receipt of a pulse of said first duration followed by a pulse of said second duration, a first indication is produced in response to the receipt of said pulse of the first duration and a second indication is produced in response to the receipt of said pulse of the second duration, and a device provides a value which varies as a function of the length of time between each said second indication which immediately precedes it, whereupon, a command signal is produced as a function of said value.

    摘要: A remote control system for TV receiver control. The system uses infra-red transmission to trasmit an infra-red data pulse on each edge of a pulse duration signal comprising a coded pattern of binary 0 and 1 bits which are formed by pulses of respective different lengths. The original pulse duration signal can be reconstituted at a receiver by a bistable element which is responsive to the infra-red data pulses. Since the regenerated modulating waveform could be in anti-phase with the original modulating waveform, the sequence of data pulses is transmitted twice and an additional data pulse is transmitted between successive transmissions, so that one or the other of the two regenerated modulating waveforms must be in phase with the original modulating waveform.

    摘要: A remote coordinate designating device has a remote control with a light emitting device for emitting light, and a controller for detecting a designated position by receiving light from the remote control at a distance from the remote control. One cycle of a light signal from the light emitting device is composed of switch data and a coordinate detection timing header at the head, and a coordinate detection carrier. The switch data and the coordinate detection timing header use the same frequency as the normal remote control frequency band, and the frequency of the coordinate detection carrier is lower than the frequency of the switch data and the coordinate detection timing header. The switch data contains on-off information about a switch for pointing, and coordinate detection is started when a predetermined time has passed from the rise of a burst portion in the switch data.

Switching may be carried out with a conventional remote control otherwise dedicated to the video recorder or television receiver by holding down a control button thereof for at least a predetermined interval of time, for example two seconds. The pre-existing television or VCR operational status is not affected by the remote controllers where an ongoing channel selection simply is reinforced or a function of the remote controller is elected which has no undesired effect upon that ongoing operational status.
