The system may comprise an image capturing device to capture one or more images, the one or more images corresponding to a field of the view of a user of a head-mounted augmented reality device, and a processor communicatively coupled to the image capturing device to extract a set of map points from the set of images, to identify a set of sparse points and a set of dense points from the extracted set of map points, and to perform a normalization on the set of map points.

摘要: Examples of eye-imaging apparatus using diffractive optical elements are provided. For example, an optical device comprises a substrate having a proximal surface and a distal surface, a first coupling optical element disposed on one of the proximal and distal surfaces of the substrate, and a second coupling optical element disposed on one of the proximal and distal surfaces of the substrate and offset from the first coupling optical element. The first coupling optical element can be configured to deflect light at an angle to totally internally reflect (TIR) the light between the proximal and distal surfaces and toward the second coupling optical element, and the second coupling optical element can be configured to deflect at an angle out of the substrate. The eye-imaging apparatus can be used in a head-mounted display such as an augmented or virtual reality display.

摘要: One embodiment provides a method, including: obtaining, utilizing at least one image capture device, at least one image of an eye of a user; identifying, from the at least one image, a plurality of characteristics of the eye, wherein at least one of the characteristics includes a position of a pupil of the eye; generating, based upon the plurality of characteristics of the eye, a plurality of images, wherein each of the plurality of images is generated for a portion of the eye; and presenting, utilizing at least one display device, the plurality of images to the eye, wherein each of the plurality of images is presented to a portion of the eye corresponding to the image generated for the given portion of the eye. The method comprises determining a target light field to be displayed at a viewing location; determining a transfer function describing the propagation of light through the image-replicating combiner between the viewing location and an input location near to an input surface of the image-replicating combiner; determining an input light field by applying the determined transfer function to the target light field; and displaying the input light field at the input location. 摘要: A method for determining a transformation between frames of reference for two inertial measurement units (IMUs) is disclosed. The transformation includes biases associated with the measurements of each of the IMUs and the extrinsic details can include relative differences in the position and orientation of the IMUs. The IMUs may be mechanically coupled to a frame so that their movements are related. The IMUs can be coupled to a pair of displays in a head-mounted device (e.g., smart glasses) so that a display spacing between for a pair of stereoscopic displays can be accurately determined and adjusted to match the eyes of the user.

Implementations may: acquire face and eye region image data of a plurality of viewers within a field of view of at least one camera associated with a 3D-enabled digital display; analyze the eye region image data to determine at least one 3D eye position, at least one eye state, at least one gaze angle, and at least one point-of-regard for at least one viewer relative to at least one camera associated with the 3D-enabled digital display; and calculate a plurality of image projections for display by the single 3D display.
