摘要: An optical device may include a light turning element. The optical device can include a first surface that is parallel to a horizontal axis and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The optical device may include a light module that includes a plurality of light emitters. The light module can be configured to combine light for the plurality of emitters. The optical device can further include a light input surface that is between the first and the second surfaces and is disposed with respect to the light module to receive light emitted from the plurality of emitters. The optical device may include an end reflector that is disposed on a side opposite the light input surface. The light coupled into the light turning element may be reflected by the end reflector and/or reflected from the second surface towards the first surface.

摘要: Systems and methods for rendering a 3D image are provided. The system receives texture and depth data (depth map) for an image. The system generates, based on the image data, a plurality of folded focal planes matrices. For each respective pixel matrix, the system preprocesses pixel values in the respective focal pixel plane matrix to generate a respective preprocessed matrix, wherein the respective preprocessed matrix clusters together pixel values of the respective folded focal plane matrix based on the depth data for the image. The system generates phase functions based on a plurality of the preprocessed matrices. The system configures a spatial light modulator of the SLM device in accordance with the generated phase functions. The system then provides the plurality of the preprocessed matrices as input to the SLM device to generate for display a 3D representation of the received image data.

摘要: Methods, apparatus, devices, and systems for reconstructing three-dimensional objects with display zero order light suppression are provided. In one aspect, a method includes illuminating a display with light, a portion of the light illuminating display elements of the display, and modulating the display elements of the display with a hologram corresponding to holographic data to diffract the portion of the light to form a holographic scene corresponding to the holographic data, and to suppress display zero order light in the holographic scene. The display zero order light can include reflected light from the display.

摘要: An augmented reality system includes a light source configured to generate a virtual light beam. The system also includes a light guiding optical element having an entry portion, an exit portion, and a surface having a diverter disposed adjacent thereto. The light source and the light guiding optical element are configured such that the virtual light beam enters the light guiding optical element through the entry portion, propagates through the light guiding optical element by at least partially reflecting off of the surface, and exits the light guiding optical element through the exit portion. The light guiding optical element is transparent to a first real-world light beam. The diverter is configured to modify a light path of a second real-world light beam at the surface.

A systems aspects include selecting, finding, and interpreting digital content pertaining to a subject matter context indicated by the beholder; deconstructing digital content into discrete content elements containing content segments that are classified according to a schema of element facets, and then constructing a facet-segmented repository of discrete content elements pertaining to a target identity; supplementing existing digital content with supplemental information and content to support the presentation of expanded information content, dimensions, or sensory capabilities; and creating and presenting a virtual experience container that is adapted to the beholder and the capabilities of the beholders user experience device.

摘要: A hyperchromatic three-dimensional (3D) imaging system creates multiple planar (2D) images located at different planes which are perceived by the observer's eyes as a 3D image, whereas a new functionality is added. Brightness of the display images is increased by applying narrow diffusion angles for the light scattered by the display. Narrow diffusion angle of the light also allows displays generating images such that each 2D image depends on the angle of observation, and a plurality of 2D images is perceived by the observer's eyes as a 3D image dependent on the angle of observation in a certain interval of the angles of observation. Angular spatial light modulator is employed as a display to generate beams directed in several predefined directions, beams being separately encoded for each direction. Scanning of an angle-maintaining diffuser screen by laser impinging onto the diffuser at different angles can be applied to ensure angle-resolved multi-view functionality.

摘要: An imaging system includes an image realisation device, and projection optics for rendering a display image on a display screen. The image realisation device includes an image realisation surface and a light structuring device having a surface with a first and second region. The light structuring device simulates a first lens on the first region of the surface. A first source image formed on a first region of the image realisation surface and projected through the projection optics renders a first display image on the display screen at a first apparent depth. The light structuring device simulates a second lens on the second region of the surface. A second source image formed on a second region of the image realisation surface and projected through the projection optics renders a second display image on the display screen at a second apparent depth. The first and second lens are independently configurable.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a an image processing device for providing a plurality of enhanced partial images which together represent an enhanced three-dimensional, 3D, image, wherein each enhanced partial image is a two-dimensional, 2D, image associated with one of a plurality of focal planes. The image processing device includes processing circuitry configured to receive or generate a plurality of initial partial images, which together form an initial 3D image, wherein each initial partial image is a 2D image associated with one of the plurality of focal planes; and to generate, from each of the initial partial images, an enhanced partial image by generating a blurred version of the initial partial image; and blending the initial partial image with the blurred version of the initial partial image.
