    摘要: A projection device includes an optical element including a hologram recording medium where information is multiplexedly recorded in each position so as to allow a coherent light beam to be diffused to a plurality of regions, an irradiation device configured to irradiate the optical element with the coherent light beam so as to allow the coherent light beam to scan the hologram recording medium, spatial light modulators configured to be illuminated with the coherent light beam which is incident from the irradiation device to the hologram recording medium to be diffused to the plurality of regions, and projection optical systems, each projection optical system projecting modulation image obtained on each spatial light modulator on corresponding screen. The coherent light beam, which is incident to each position of the hologram recording medium to be diffused, is illuminated on a plurality of the spatial light modulators.

    摘要: The phase of laser light is modulated by a phase modulating array, and a hologram image is projected on a rotating screen. Light emission of the laser light is driven by PWM modulation so that a light emission period and a non-light emission period following the light emission period are repeated. In a case where the luminance of the hologram image is changed, the duty ratio of the light emission period is changed. In a case where the luminance is significantly reduced, the light emission intensity of the laser light is reduced without changing the duty ratio. Since the duty ratio is not reduced, a light diffusion condition on the rotating screen can be randomized even in a case where the luminance is reduced.

    摘要: A method for reducing speckle patterns of a three-dimensional holographic reconstruction is disclosed. A controllable light modulator into which a three-dimensional scene is coded is illuminated by coherent light, a reconstruction means projects the modulated light close to an eye position into a space of observation and a control means controls the illumination. This provides a holographic reproduction device in which the speckle patterns occurring during reconstruction of a three-dimensional scene are reduced. Also provided is a next-to-real time method using a carrier medium of conventional image refresh rate.

    摘要: An apparatus adapted for confocal imaging of a non-flat specimen comprising a coherent light source for producing a light beam, imaging optics adapted to focus the light beam into at least one spot on a surface of a specimen, and a detector adapted to receive and detect light reflected from the specimen surface. The imaging optics comprise at least one optical component located so that the light reflected from the specimen surface passes therethrough on its way to the detector. The optical component is movable so as to move the at least one spot, within a range of movement, to a number of distinct locations in a plane perpendicular to the apparatus' optical axis, within the detector's integration time.

    摘要: An apparatus for projecting light on to a predetermined area includes a light source and a transparent element disposed adjacent the light source where in the transparent element is made from a sol-gel type glass, quartz, or other optical material. A plurality of surface micro-structures integral in a surface of the transparent element are provided which both homogenize and control directionality of light passing form the light source through the transparent element. These micro-structures produce a predetermined pattern of highly transmissive, smoothly varying, non-discontinuous light in a predetermined direction which is suitable for any number of applications wherein a sol-gel material transparent element including the diffuser surface structures are particularly well suited.
