Abstract:
A method for generating a user mobility model includes: firstly deriving user movement tracks of all the users in a cellular network and then generating from the user movement tracks a user mobility model involving a user traffic between home cells of any two of path points in the cellular network. Thus, a cell can be re-divided into respective location areas according to the generated user mobility model to thereby deploy reasonably various network resources in the GSM network according to the re-divided positional zones. The invention further discloses a method and device for generating a user movement track and a device for generating a user mobility model.
Abstract:
A method is provided, comprising: copolymerizing a monomer comprising at least two amide groups, a monomer of formula (a) and a sulfonic acid or salt monomer, wherein R1 is CH3 or H. A polymer made by the method, a membrane and an electrode comprising the polymer are provided.
Abstract:
Medical devices for cutting and suturing biological tissue generally include a shaft and first and second guide members each including a first portion coupled to the shaft at a first location and a second portion coupled to the shaft at a second location. The first portions are movable along the shaft relative to the second portions, and the first and second guide members define an arcuate profile and are configured to flex in response to such movement. When used to cut tissue, the medical device may further include a blade positioned between the first and second guide members. When used to suture tissue, one or more suture guides may be provided on the first guide member for directing a suture needle through tissue proximate the first guide member. Methods of repairing and replacing a meniscus using the medical devices are also provided.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and systems that can develop productivity scores for quantitatively comparing employees with somewhat different job task assignments. Evaluations of modeled task performance scores can be obtained and analysis of the evaluations, e.g., a regression analysis, can be performed to obtain performance parameters. The performance parameters can be applied to employee task performance scores over a time frame to obtain productivity scores for the employees. Statistical control charts based on the productivity scores can be used to identify outstanding and/or poorly performing employees.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for wireless communication are described. In one embodiment, a method for communicating with a subscriber comprises transmitting orthogonal frequency domain multiplexing (OFDM) signals to the subscriber, and receiving direct-sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signals from the subscriber.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for allocating subcarriers in an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) system is described. In one embodiment, the method comprises allocating at least one diversity cluster of subcarriers to a first subscriber and allocating at least one coherence cluster to a second subscriber.
Abstract:
In a voltage converter, a mode configuration is selected in response to a mode control signal using a switch matrix having two or more mode configurations. Each mode configuration corresponds to one of two or more output signal voltages. The output signal is compared with a reference signal to produce a direction comparison signal. The direction comparison signal is used to produce the mode control signal.
Abstract:
A fluid ejection device includes a fluid chamber having a first sidewall and a second sidewall, a flexible membrane extended over the fluid chamber and supported at an end of the first sidewall and an end of the second sidewall, an actuator provided on the flexible membrane, a first gap provided between the flexible membrane and the end of the first sidewall, and a second gap provided between the flexible membrane and the end of the second sidewall, and compliant material provided within the first gap and within the second gap. As such, the actuator is adapted to deflect the flexible membrane relative to the fluid chamber.

Abstract:
A method of removing undesired tissue from a connective tissue is provided that includes stretching the connective tissue and peeling away the undesired tissue. Some methods include soaking the connective tissue in a solution prior to and/or subsequent to stretching and peeling away the undesired tissue. The solution may include a detergent, an enzyme, a salt solution, an organic solvent, and combinations thereof.
