Abstract:
A mobile terminal, such as a mobile telephone, has a hinge with a helical spring and which provides both snap opening or automatic opening upon activation of a release means as well as a freely selectable angular position between the rotating parts of the terminal. Also a new type of spring hinges or clutches are described for use in e.g. this type of terminal.

Abstract:
A dual rack and pinion system is provided for a window lift mechanism. The window lift mechanism includes improved window brackets for simple mounting to a window. A modular frame design is provided to improve assembly of the window lift mechanism into the door of a vehicle. An improved assembly method is provided for the dual rack and pinion system. The system is also provided with a smart motor and incorporates resilient shock absorbers in the dual rack and pinion gear train to allow more time for the smart motor to detect and react to an obstruction in the window.
Abstract:
A device for electrically driving a cable-actuated window regulator includes a casing and an electric motor. The electric motor drives an endless screw meshing with a toothed ring surrounding a conventional brake box that is connected to a cable winding drum disposed in the housing. The toothed ring presents a frontal wall obturating the opening of a cylindrical sleeve forming the casing of the brake box. The drum and the frontal wall define fingers capable of cooperating with the ends of a helical spring disposed in the cylindrical sleeve.
Abstract:
A clutch is arranged between a rotatable shaft and a worm shaft in a motor. The clutch includes a driving-side rotator connected to the rotatable shaft, a driven-side rotator connected to the worm shaft, a spring support and a coil spring arranged in the spring support. When the driving-side rotator is rotated upon energization of the motor, the coil spring is wound by the driving-side rotator to reduce an outer diameter of the coil spring, so that the rotation of the driving-side rotator is transmitted to the driven-side rotator and the worm shaft. When the driven-side rotator is rotated by an external mechanical force, the coil spring is unwound by the driven-side rotator to increase the outer diameter of the coil spring, so that a frictional force between the spring support and the coil spring is increased to restrain rotation of the driven-side rotator.
Abstract:
A control mechanism for use with a door closer having a pinion shaft. The control mechanism comprises a coiled torsion spring around the shaft with a free end of the spring lying along part of a strap. The strap is connected to the shaft and normally held in tension, in use, by its connection to a movable hydraulic piston of the door closer which is biased in one direction. On normal closing of the door, in use, the strap remains tensioned and the spring is thus prevented from tightening on the shaft. However, if an external closing force is applied to the door, the strap becomes untensioned, thereby allowing the spring to tighten about the shaft to retard its angular door closing movement.
Abstract:
A handle unit of a manual window apparatus including a base plate 110 that has a brake drum part 111, a handle shaft 120 that penetrates the base plate 110, a brake spring 140 that is mounted inside the brake drum part 111, a spring hanger 160 that is fitted on the handle shaft 120 and that is joined with the handle shaft 120 in a circumferential direction via the brake spring 140, a volute balance spring 170 that is laid over a surface of the base plate 110 in an outer circumferential area of the spring hanger 160 and that is mounted between the spring hanger 160 and the base plate 110, a wire drum 180 that is fitted on the handle shaft 120 so as to form a single body with the spring hanger 160 in a circumferential direction and that is wound around on the circumferential surface thereof with a wire for opening-closing actions of a window glass, and a cover that has a container part 191 that covers the wire drum and that is secured to the base plate 110.
Abstract:
A two-way clutch comprising an input system rotational member (10) adapted to be rotatably driven by a driving source, an output system rotational member (60, 140) for taking out outwardly a torque transferred from the input system rotational member (10), and a torque transferring member (50, 150a,150b) interposed between the input system rotational member (10) and the output system rotational member (60, 140) for selectively making the two rotational members engage and disengage each other, wherein in order to perform securely torque transfer and cut off between the input and output systems and avoid any influence of an external force applied from the output system during torque transfer, the torque transferring member (50, 150a, 150b) is adapted to transfer torque in both forward and backward rotating directions while it engages the input system rotational member (10) and the output system rotational member (60, 140) and the output system rotational member (60, 140) is adapted to freely rotate only when the torque transferring member (50, 150a, 150b) is released from the output system rotational member (60, 140).
Abstract:
A hinge that provides equilibration and variable friction for a display screen or a laptop lid. In the preferred embodiment, a torsion rod provides a restoring force which increases as the lid is moved either direction from its vertical position. A friction hinge, of well know design, uses a spring band about a shaft. One end of the torsion rod is coupled to the end of the band of the friction hinge, so that the moment in the torsion rod increases or decreases the moment in the spring band of the hinge, modifying the frictional torque accordingly. This allows the frictional torque to be low as the lid is first opened, and larger as the display reaches the useful range of its motion.
Abstract:
A regulator for a power window having a safety function for preventing an object from being caught in a closing power window includes a driving unit for raising and lowering the window glass of a vehicle and a driven unit which receives power from the driving unit. When frictional resistance corresponding to relative displacement between the driving and driven units is less than a fixed value during descent of the window glass and exceeds this fixed during ascent of the window glass, the ascending window glass is reversed and made to descend. When the amount of an increase in current to the driving unit during ascent of the window glass increases in a case where the sliding resistance has exceeded a fixed value even once during descent of the window glass, the ascending window glass is reversed and made to descend.
