Abstract:
A retractable screen is located within a frame portion of a window. The screen accumulates on and pays out from a spring biased roller located in said frame portion. The screen is fully retractable and for the most part hidden for viewing, egress or cleaning purposes, and is available as desired when moved to the operable position. The screening material utilized includes “T” shaped members for easy installation in compatible grooves provided with the handle and the roller.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for contactless approach of a lower stop position of a motor vehicle window pane operated by extraneous force using a sensor device which during lowering of the window pane generates path-dependent signals and forwards them to an electronic evaluation unit in which the sensor signals are counted. During two separate phases (A) and (B) system deficiencies of a window raising mechanism are compensated and the pane is lowered. On reaching a certain counting state which lies in front of the position of the fixed contactless stop, a drive is switched off. The first phase (A) and the second phase (B) of the adjustment movement of the drive are separated by a boundary value (2) which reflects a system state of window winding raising mechanism so that the sensor signals of the first phase (A) can be associated with compensating cable slack and the sensor signals of the second phase (B) can be associated with the actual movement of the window. For determining the slowing-down path of the window pane which is to be expected the operating voltage of the drive is used in addition to the lowering speed of the window.
Abstract:
A closure assembly is provided including a track and a slidable and pivotable closure member. The closure member is engaged with the track proximate first and second pivots adjacent the pivotable end of the member, the first and second pivots being interconnected by a multiple segment shaft (for example at least two portions) (for example telescoping) which provides for accurate installation, retention, removal, adjustment and alignment of the first and second pivots in a substantially parallel line for pivotally supporting the closure member so that it may be safely and securely pivoted away from the closure assembly. Improvements to the abovementioned structure are also provided.
Abstract:
A window system is proposed in which windows (41) which can be both locked and tilted mechanically are connected via microprocessors (43) to a monitoring center (49) which can display the locking and closure status of the individual windows (41) via visual display units (51, 57). The microprocessors (43) are located in the vicinity of the windows (41) and connected to the receiver (61) of a radio-controlled remote control unit by which the windows can be remotely controlled. The windows (41) can also be controlled via an operating unit (65) in the monitoring center (49). The remote control unit may involve either portable transmitters (63) or transmitters with a fixed location (67) which control the windows (41) via sensors (69) as a function of ambient air parameters, such as the relative air humidity, temperature or the CO.sub.2 content of the air in the room. The windows (41) have a locking drive integrated in the handle and a separate tilting drive. A central blocking device which blocks the microprocessors (43) permits central blocking of individual windows or of all the windows in the system.
Abstract:
A hinge attachment for use with a conventional farm or corral gate which is positioned between the outer end of the gate and the supporting gate post. The hinge attachment permits the gate to be pivoted approximately 360.degree. with respect to the supporting gate post.
Abstract:
A door mounting assembly for a hollow cabinet utilizes a pair of vertically inclined elongated scissor members pivotally secured together at aligned centers lying in a place adjacent one side wall of the cabinet. The members are movable between a first compressed position and a second expanded position. Upper and lower horizontal guides are secured to the inner surfaces of the top and bottom of the cabinet. A vertical elongated third member is selectively secured both pivotally and slidably to the scissor members and is disposed in the guides. An end of one of the scissor members is pivotally secured to and is vertically slidable in a vertical support fixed in position in the cabinet.
Abstract:
Electromechanically actuated bifolding closure apparatus including a vertical support post; a pair of generally C-shaped frame members disposed in facing relationship and pivotally joined together at their distal extremities such that in a closed disposition the two C-shaped members lie in a single plane and form a rectangularly configured super-structure, and in an opened disposition lie in different, spaced apart parallel planes rotated either 90 degrees relative to or parallel to the closed plane; hinge apparatus pivotally connecting one of said C-shaped units to the vertical post; a motive power source carried by one of the C-shaped members at a position proximate the support post; a gear drive mechanism associated with the hinging apparatus at the post and at the pivotal connection of at least one set of the distal ends of the C-shaped members; and a mechanical drive linkage coupling the motive power source to each of the gear mechanisms, such that when the motor caused the associated drive linkage to be rotated in one direction, the structure is rotated from a closed position to an open position, and when the motor causes the drive linkage to be rotated in the other direction, the structure is rotated from the open position to the closed position.
Abstract:
A magnetic door opener device adapted to be positioned below a countertop made of non-magnetic materials, the device having a pair of magnets which attractively interact with a pair of magnets attached to the bottoms of a pair of windows which are suspended on a trolley for movement to or fro to determine closed and opened positions of the window. The device underneath the countertop comprises a pair of spaced toothed sprockets supporting an endless belt having inner and outer runs, the outer run supporting a magnet adapted to magnetically cooperate with a magnet in the bottom of one of the windows, and the other run of the belt supporting a different magnet adapted to attractively cooperate with a magnet in the bottom of the other window. A motor control and limit switches are provided for controlling the opening and closing positions of the windows when a control switch is operated by an operator. The belt has a plurality of apertures which, in conjunction with the teeth on the sprockets, prevent slippage and at the same time provide a means for adjustably positioning the magnets on the endless belt to thereby determine the size of the opening between the opened windows.
Abstract:
A retractable door structure for a storage case including a pair of guide grooves formed from the front end to the back end of the inner surfaces of the case panel, sliding blocks connected to each other by a connecting rod provided in the guide grooves, and a pinion mounted in each of the sliding blocks which is designed to engage with a rack formed in the guide grooves. The door is pivotally held between the sliding blocks by rotary shafts attached to the corners of the door. By means of this structure, the door can be slid inside the case after it is opened and the door is easily pushed in and pulled out of the case since the sliding blocks holding the door slide smoothly in the guide grooves.
Abstract:
Motor control apparatus is disclosed for a motor driven vehicle power window mechanism including a flexible drive element, such as a drive tape, adapted to drive the window in a predetermined direction by being placed in tension by the motor. The tension of the flexible drive element is relieved by automatically reversing motor direction for a short time when the window reaches the desired position. The reverse motor rotation is accurately controlled to an amount sufficient to relieve drive tension but insufficient to produce unwanted reverse movement of the window by detecting the pulses of the armature ripple current as the successive commutator bars pass the brushes during reverse motor rotation, integrating these pulses and stopping the reverse motor operation when the integrated value reaches a predetermined reference.
