Abstract: An electrical machine includes a stator core and a plurality of windings subdivided into a plurality of multiphase motor cells, each multiphase motor cell having M windings associated therewith, and having a phase shift relative to other multiphase motor cells. The electrical machine may include N inverter cells coupled in series; wherein each inverter cell is a multiphase inverter; and wherein the voltage magnitude supplied to a corresponding multiphase motor cell is VDC/N. The electrical machine may include a sensor system in communication with the plurality of inverter cells and operative to commutate each inverter cell in a sequence.

Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a method for diagnosing the state of electromechanical systems in which electrical rotating machinery is used on the basis of analysis of impedance estimated from at least two currents and two voltages, measured during an operation of the electromechanical system. The method may be especially useful in the condition monitoring of electric motors and generators. The invention combines the information from both the voltage and current signals measurable at the motor terminals. Specifically, the measurements of voltage and current from two or more phases of a polyphase electrical machine are combined to estimate the impedance of the machine, impedance being the resistance to the flow of current that a circuit exhibits when a voltage is applied to it.

Abstract: Unique systems, methods, techniques and apparatuses of a synchronous reluctance machine (SynRM) control are disclosed. One exemplary embodiment is a control device structured to operate a converter coupled to a synchronous reluctance machine and receive measurements of current. The device comprises a converter controller structured to detect a power supply restoration, operate the converter so as to transmit a series voltage vectors relative to the stationary reference frame to the stator of the synchronous reluctance machine, receive current measurements following the transmission of each of the voltage vectors, estimate the rotor position using the characteristics of the voltage vector and the received current measurements corresponding to at least one voltage vector, estimate the rotor speed using the characteristics of the voltage vectors and the received current measurements corresponding to at least two voltage vectors, and operate the converter so as to apply voltage to the stator.

Abstract: A robot has a gripper for gripping parts and releasing the gripped part at a destination position. The gripped part is vibrated at the destination position to cause the gripper to release the gripped part. The gripped part can be directly vibrated or vibrated by vibrating the mechanical structure of the gripper or by vibrating air in the gripper mechanical structure. The vibrator can connect the gripper to the robot. The vibrator can be inside or attached to the one or more of the articulated fingers of the gripper. The vibrations can be stopped when a sensor detects that the gripped part has been released or after the passage of a preset vibration time.

Abstract: A method for single-phase islanding detection in a three-phase electricity network, can include supplying power into a three-phase electricity network (EN) by a power supply assembly (PSA), the electricity network (EN) having a network voltage, and providing a stimulus signal into a positive sequence electric quantity of the electricity network, the positive sequence electric quantity being current, power or a derived quantity thereof. A magnitude and/or a rate of change of an indicative element of a negative sequence component of the network voltage is monitored, a frequency domain of the indicative element including a frequency corresponding to the stimulus signal. A single phase islanding condition is detected in the electricity network (EN) if the magnitude and/or rate of change of the indicative element exceeds a predetermined limit value.
