Provided is a multimedia broadcast and multicast service controlling apparatus and method based on a user location. The multimedia broadcast and multicast service controlling apparatus may receive MCCH information, may periodically update a service list of a mobile terminal based on the received MCCH information, the service list listing services that are providable, may register a service in a pending list when the service is not included in the updated service list and is requested to be provided, and may provide the service registered in the pending list when the mobile terminal reaches a location where the mobile terminal may provide the service registered in the pending list.

A voice/speech recognition client system, a voice recognition server system, and a voice recognition method. The voice recognition system indicates a result of voice recognition in a voice signal inputted from a starting time for voice recognition to an ending time. The voice recognition client comprises: a communication unit that transmits a unit voice signal input at intervals from the starting time to the ending time, to the voice recognition server system at the intervals and receives an intermediate result of voice recognition from the voice recognition server system; and a display unit that displays the intermediate result received between the starting time and the ending time.

The touch sensing apparatus includes: a plurality of first electrodes; a plurality of second electrodes; and a controlling unit, wherein the controlling unit applies a first driving signal to at least one of the plurality of first electrodes, sequentially obtains sensed signals from the plurality of second electrodes intersecting with the at least one first electrode to which the first driving signal is applied, and applies a second driving signal having the same potential as that of the first driving signal to other second electrodes adjacent to the second electrode from which the controlling unit obtains the sensed signal while the controlling unit obtains the sensed signal from any one of the plurality of second electrodes.

Disclosed are a system and method for providing broadcast services in a broadband wireless access system. According to an exemplary embodiment, by allowing a terminal to receive broadcast service data using carrier information that is used to provide a broadcast service received from a base station and performing other communication except for the broadcast service using other carriers except for the carrier used to provide the broadcast service, efficient use of carrier frequency resources without any loss is achieved.

A power control system for an LCD monitor having an LCD panel includes a light source unit providing light to the LCD panel, a power supply unit generating a standard low DC current, and a high-voltage generator for converting the lower DC voltage to a relatively high voltage and supplying the high voltage to the light source. The power control system further includes a feedback control unit coupled to the power supply unit for interrupting the operation of the power supply unit when the converted high voltage is determined to be abnormal. The feedback control unit includes a cable, through which a voltage can be induced due to high voltage generated by the high-voltage generator, and a power supply control circuit capable of interrupting the operation of the power supply unit when the converted high voltage is determined to be abnormal by analyzing the induced current.
