Abstract:
The present invention provides methods of identifying polypeptides that have enzymatic activity associated with nutrient and/or energy homeostasis, and thus, are involved in the development of one or more cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, e.g., cardiovascular disease, obesity, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and metabolic syndrome. One such method comprises identifying a polypeptide as a member of the adiponutrin family of proteins. As such, the invention is related to the polynucleotides and polypeptides belonging to the adiponutrin family, and provides novel isolated and purified polynucleotides and polypeptides of a novel member of the adiponutrin family, patatin-like phospholipase domain 1 (PNPLA1). Also provided are methods of using the polynucleotides and polypeptides related to or provided by the invention for screening a test compound, e.g., a small molecule, antibody, etc., for the ability of the test compound to detect and/or modulate the activity of one or more members of the adiponutrin family of proteins. The present invention also is directed to novel methods for diagnosing, prognosing, and monitoring the progress of at least one cardiovascular and metabolic disorder using polynucleotides or polypeptides belonging to the adiponutrin family, and/or modulators of one or more members of the adiponutrin family. The present invention is further directed to novel therapeutics and therapeutic targets for the intervention (treatment) and prevention of cardiovascular and metabolic disorders arising from dysregulated energy homeostasis, as related to one or more members of the adiponutrin family of proteins.

A filter unit may include an electrode structure, a fluid-purifying flow path, and a pH adjusting chamber. The electrode structure may include a cathode, a cation exchange membrane, an anion exchange membrane, and an anode in that order. The fluid-purifying flow path may be at least one of a path in the cathode, between the cathode and the cation exchange membrane, between the anion exchange membrane and the anode, and in the anode. The fluid-purifying flow path may include an adsorption function. The pH adjusting chamber may be between the cation exchange membrane and the anion exchange membrane. The pH adjusting chamber may be configured to control the pH of the fluid in the fluid-purifying flow path.

Abstract:
There is provided a power supply for a light emitting diode display using a light emitting diode as a backlight unit that unites a DC power supply provided from outside the light emitting diode display and a driving power supply provided inside the light emitting diode display. A power supply of a light emitting diode display according to an aspect of the invention may include: a power conversion unit converting commercial AC power into at least one driving power having a predetermined voltage level; and a backlight driving unit generating a backlight driving signal using the driving power from the power conversion unit, wherein the power conversion unit and the backlight driving unit are mounted onto one printed circuit board.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method, system and computer readable recording medium for generating a keyword pair for search advertisement based on advertisement purchase history. The method includes acquiring a set of search keywords for each of advertisers having purchased or attempted to purchase the search keywords to place search advertisement or to make an attempt to place the search advertisement, selecting at least two search keywords among the set of keywords, generating a keyword pair of the selected search keywords correlated to each other, and storing information regarding the generated keyword pair. It is possible to provide an improved keyword determination model capable of determining correlated search keywords without processing an enormous amount of data such as search keywords of all users or keywords appearing on all of web pages, thereby enabling more efficient data processing.

Abstract:
A method for separating oxidation catalysts used for producing trimellitic acid, which comprises the steps of: adding water to a reactor effluent in a volume ratio of water to the reactor effluent of 0:1 to 11:1, the reactor effluent being in a slurry state and resulting from oxidizing pseudocumene with air in an acetic acid and in the presence of cobalt, manganese and bromine catalysts; heating the mixture of water and the reactor effluent to a temperature of 25.degree. to 140.degree. C. to make the slurry be a diluted reactor effluent in a liquid phase; passing the diluted reactor effluent through ion exchange resins, to adsorb cobalt, manganese and bromine ions on the resins; regenerating the resins with an eluting solution; and isolating the oxidation catalysts from an effluent, shows recoveries of at least 99 wt % for cobalt, at least 99 wt % for manganese and at least 90 wt % for bromine.
