Abstract:
A switch failure detection device includes a switch, a rectifier, a switch voltage detection circuit, and a controller. The switch is connected in a path in which a charging current to and a discharging current flow. The rectifier passes a discharging current by bypassing the switch when the switch is turned off. The detection circuit detects a voltage between an input and an output of the switch. The controller is configured to: determine whether the electric storage device is in a discharging state; send an off-command signal to the switch if the electric storage device is in the discharging state; receive the voltage; determine an input-output voltage of the switch based on the voltage; determine whether the input-output voltage is lower than a first reference voltage; and determine the switch has a turn-off problem if the input-output voltage is lower than the first reference voltage.
Abstract:
A positive electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery according to the present invention includes particles A of a lamellar type lithium transition metal oxide and particles B of a spinel type lithium transition metal oxide, as a positive active material, at a ratio within the range of A:B=20:80 to 80:20 (weight ratio), in which a particle size distribution of the positive active material has a peak based on the particles A and a peak based on the particles B within the range of 1 to 50 μm. In the integrated distribution curve of the particle diameter, a particle diameter A(D50) at a degree of accumulation of the particles A of 50% and a particle diameter B(D50) at a degree of accumulation of the particles B of 50% satisfy the following expression (1), and a particle diameter A(D95) at a degree of accumulation of the particles A of 95% and a particle diameter B(D5) at a degree of accumulation of the particles B of 5% satisfy the following expression (2): B(D50)−A(D50)≧5 μm Expression (1) B(D5)>A(D95) Expression (2).
Abstract:
A metal foil extending outward from an electrode plate is sandwiched between a first metal member and a second metal member, and ultrasonic vibration is caused to act upon a plurality of sites of action from the first metal member side to join the metal foil to the first metal member and the second metal member. The first metal member has a Vickers hardness of at least 40 Hv and not more than 75 Hv.

A lead-acid battery terminal member includes: a terminal portion which is arranged in a resin-made cover for closing a container; and a cylindrical bushing which is connected to the terminal portion through a conducting portion. The bushing is embedded in the cover; and has a plurality of annular projecting portions formed on an outer periphery thereof. Poles extending from an electrode group arranged in the container are inserted into and are welded to the bushing. Surface roughness of a surface of the annular projecting portion which faces a resin forming the cover in an opposed manner is lower than surface roughness of a surface of a portion other than the annular projecting portion.
