摘要: A laser welding method includes a preparation process and a welding process. In the preparation process, sides of longitudinal ends of conductors (91) of two rectangular wires (90) are aligned with each other. In the welding process, the two rectangular wires (90) are welded together by a laser irradiation to an area including a boundary between end faces of the conductors (91) of the two rectangular wires (90). Once the laser has passed through a transmission optical system, the end face of the rectangular wire (90) is irradiated with the laser. The transmission optical system is rotatable, and an irradiation position of the laser to the end face changes in a first direction according to a rotation phase of the transmission optical system. In the welding process, the area including the boundary between the end faces of the conductors (91) of the rectangular wires (90) is irradiated with the pulsed laser in such a way that the first direction is parallel to a long side of the end face of the rectangular wire (90), so that the rectangular wires are welded with each other.

摘要: A method for fabricating a lamination structure of a second-generation high-temperature superconducting (2G-HTS) tape is provided. Suitable lamination tapes are selected and subjected to local oxidation on side to form a locally oxidized region having a target pattern. The lamination tapes and a to-be-laminated 2G-HTS tape are sequentially arranged, where the locally-oxidized side of each of the lamination tapes faces toward the 2G-HTS tape. The lamination tapes and the to-be-laminated 2G-HTS tape are simultaneously immersed in a molten solder pool, and subjected to reel-to-reel squeezing lamination to form the desired lamination structure. A lamination structure fabricated by the method is also provided.

摘要: Embodiments are directed to establishing a direct electrical bond between a bonding connector of a contact plate and a battery cell in a battery module. In a first embodiment, an oscillating laser is used to weld the bonding connector to a battery cell terminal over a target area over which the bonding connector makes non-flush contact. In a second embodiment, the bonding connector is flattened to reduce a gap between the bonding connector and the target area on the battery cell terminal, and then laser-welded (e.g., using an oscillating or non-oscillating laser). In a third embodiment, at least one hold-down mechanism is applied over the bonding connector to secure the bonding connector to the battery cell terminal, after which the bonding connector is laser-welded to the battery cell terminal.
