Abstract: A spectroscope for measuring a spectrum of input light includes a fringe former that forms first fringes having a first pitch by splitting the input light, a diffraction grating that disperses each of the first fringes, a moire pattern former that forms a moire pattern by overlaying the first fringes that have been dispersed, on second fringes having a second pitch different from the first pitch, and an image pickup device that measures the spectrum of the input light by detecting the moire pattern. At least one of the fringe former and the moire pattern former includes a cylindrical lens array.

Abstract: A production method for a group III nitride crystal, the production method includes: preparing a plurality of group III nitride pieces as a plurality of seed crystals on a substrate, and growing a group III nitride crystal by bringing a surface of each of the seed crystals into contact with a melt that comprises at least one group III element selected from gallium, aluminum, and indium, and an alkali metal in an atmosphere comprising nitrogen, and thereby reacting the group III element and the nitrogen in the melt, wherein the step of growing a group III nitride crystal includes: growing a plurality of first group III nitride crystals whose cross-sections each have a triangular shape or a trapezoidal shape, from the plurality of seed crystals; and growing second group III nitride crystals each in a gap among the plurality of first group III nitride crystals.

Abstract: The present invention aims to obtain an anti-repulsive guidance molecule a (RGMa) antibody having a high binding activity and few side effects which can be used as a medicine for preventing, treating, or preventing the relapse of neurological or immunological diseases. The problem is solved by providing an isolated RGMa binding protein which does not inhibit binding between RGMa and neogenin but neutralizes the neurite outgrowth inhibiting activity of RGMa, preferably by providing an anti-RGMa antibody which has complementarity determining regions having amino acid sequences of SEQ ID NOS: 30-35 or SEQ ID NOS: 36-40 in Sequence Listing, and SFG.

Abstract: The present invention addresses the problem of providing a disease-treating agent which exerts an excellent effect in treating diseases requiring an emergency surgery such as heart failure and which is efficacious at a certain level for a large number of patients. The present invention pertains to a kit for preparing a disease-treating agent, said kit comprising a) a fibrinogen solution, b) a thrombin solution and c) mesenchymal stem cells, in separate forms respectively. It is preferred that c) the mesenchymal stem cells are allogeneic to a subject to be treated. Also, the present invention pertains to a kit for preparing a disease-treating agent, said kit being to be used by, when in use, suspending c) the mesenchymal stem cells in either a) the fibrinogen solution or b) the thrombin solution, and then spraying the cell suspension thus obtained directly to a disease site substantially simultaneously with either b) the thrombin solution or a) the fibrinogen solution that is not used in the suspending step.

Abstract: The objective of the present invention is to provide a carbon-based hydrogen storage material having an autocatalytic capability, and a production method therefor. The present invention provides a carbon-based hydrogen storage material having an atomic defect, which is a hydrogen adsorbing-storing hydrocarbon compound having an autocatalysis reaction, wherefrom hydrogen that has been adsorbed and stored within the compound is either released while no heat is absorbed, or released while heat is generated. In addition, provided is a production method for the carbon-based hydrogen storage material having the autocatalytic capability, comprising: preparing a hydrocarbon compound serving as a production starting material for the carbon-based hydrogen storage material; setting the production starting material inside a container under a predetermined partial gas pressure; irradiating the production starting material with an ion beam and then performing annealing under predetermined conditions, thereby forming the hydrocarbon compound having the atom defect; and processing with activated hydrogen the hydrocarbon compound having the atom defect. Also provided is a production method for a hydrogen adsorption-storage device using the carbon-based hydrogen storage material.

Abstract: Provided are: a polymer gel for a medium, and a medium in which the stiffness of the polymer gel can be easily and reversibly changed and the shape of cells can be controlled according to the stiffness of the gel; and a method for culturing cells using the medium. The polymer gel for a medium contains a solvent and a crosslinked structure that is crosslinked by reversible bonds. The stiffness of the polymer gel for a medium can be easily and reversibly changed. Accordingly, when the polymer gel for a medium according to the present invention is used, cell morphology and function can be reversibly controlled according to the stiffness of the gel.

Abstract: Provided is a pain estimating device with which it is possible to estimate objectively and accurately pain being experienced by a subject. A pain estimating device 110 estimates the magnitude of pain being experienced by a subject, on the basis of brainwaves of the subject, and is provided with: a measurement unit 111 which acquires a plurality of items of brainwave data or analysis data thereof by measuring brainwaves from the subject a plurality of times; and an estimation unit 112 which estimates the relative magnitude of the pain being experienced when the brainwave measurements were conducted a plurality of times, from the plurality of items of brainwave data or the analysis data thereof (for example the amplitude), on the basis of the linearity of a relationship between the brainwave data or the analysis data thereof (for example the amplitude) and the pain. The present invention also provides a pain estimating method and device with which it is possible to estimate objectively and accurately pain being experienced by a subject, and to classify simply the quality and quantity thereof. The present invention also provides a method for generating a pain classification value for classifying pain being experienced by the subject, on the basis of brainwaves of the subject.
