Abstract:
A system and method is provided for providing, maintaining and accessing recording announcements in a telecommunications system. In the preferred embodiment, the system comprises at least one central office coupled to a telecommunication network. An announcement service node comprising a data schema and an application for accessing the data schema is coupled to the telecommunications network. The announcement service node is accessible by one or more central offices coupled to the telecommunications network. A storage mass is coupled to the announcement service node for storing recorded announcements.
Abstract:
A method, system and apparatus for dynamically alerting calling parties of menu structure changes in a telephone prompting system. In a telephone prompting system, a menu structure change alert method can include determining whether a menu structure change has occurred for the telephone prompting system in response to the receipt of an incoming call from a calling party. Subsequently, the calling party can be selectively alerted of the menu structure change. In this regard, an alert message can be played to the calling party.
Abstract:
A system and method for creation and automatic deployment of personalized, dynamic and interactive voice services relating to subscriber corporate analysis related information, including information derived from on-line analytical processing (OLAP) systems. More specifically, the invention relates to a system and method that enable personalized delivery of corporate analysis-related information in real-time, via natural language voice communication with a voice-enabled terminal device.
Abstract:
A memory system is constituted of a file storage flash memory storing a control program required for a control portion and a large amount of data, and a random access memory storing a program used by the control portion and functioning as a buffer memory for received data. Thus, a memory system for a portable telephone capable of storing a large amount of received data at high-speed and allowing reading of the stored data at high-speed is provided.
Abstract:
In recent times, communications service providers have been able to offer large business enterprises the ability to share call center operation among multiple geographically dispersed call centers. In particular, network-resident call handling technologies have been developed for performing some of the handling and queuing of each inbound call within the communications network, that is, before the call is forwarded to an ACD at a particular call center. However, by outsourcing a portion of the call center operations to a network-based call routing system, the call centers are no longer able to maintain direct control over, and are generally unable to directly access information, such as statistics, about the calls in the network or other call centers. Accordingly, an interface is provided that allows an entity to obtain information about calls within the network or other call center(s).
Abstract:
A method is provided for assisting a mobile communication device user in entering a phone number for which a call is desired to be placed. When a user enters the alphanumeric characters upon initiating a calling session, the characters are analyzed together with criteria information to generate a list of a list of candidate or suggested phone numbers for presentation to the mobile device user. The mobile device user may then select a phone number from the list to execute the phone call. The intelligence to generate the list of candidate phone numbers may reside in a computing device (e.g., server) remote from the mobile communication device and connected to the network infrastructure equipment through which the mobile device communicates, or may reside in the mobile device itself. In the latter case, the mobile device may receive updates to the criteria information used to generate the list of candidate phone numbers.
Abstract:
A method and system are provided for storing received voicemail messages to alternate storage locations. A subscriber to voicemail services provides a voicemail system with an address or a number of addresses to which the subscriber may forward voicemail messages for extended storage. The subscriber may provide an electronic mail address, facsimile device number, a forwarding telephone directory number, or the address of a wireless electronic device, such as a hand-held computer, personal digital assistant, or pager. After receiving and reviewing a voicemail message left for the subscriber at the voicemail system, the subscriber may select an alternate storage address to have the voicemail message forwarded to that address for extended storage and for subsequent review and use. The message may be converted from speech-to-text at the voicemail system prior to forwarding the message. If the message is converted to text format, the message may be sent to a forwarding facsimile device, or the message may be electronically mailed to an email address, Internet-based web page, or wireless electronic device. Alternatively, the message may be converted to a digital audio format and may be electronically mailed as an attachment to an electronic mail message to an address provided by the subscriber.
Abstract:
A method for searching across instant message systems and an interconnecting server are disclosed. The method includes the steps of searching in a SIMPLE IM system by a WV-IMPS user, and searching in a WV-IMPS system by a SIMPLE IM user. The interconnecting server includes a message input/output module and a message processing and converting module. The technical solution of the present invention seamlessly connects the search services of the WV-IMPS instant message system and the SIMPLE instant message system, and thus solves the problem on interconnecting search functions between different types of instant message systems.
Abstract:
A method and system for logging voice quality issues for a communication connection includes receiving a signal for logging quality information for a voice connection at an endpoint of the voice connection. Voice samples are collected from the voice connection at the endpoint. The voice samples are stored in an error log at the endpoint.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to methods and apparati for receiving, storing and displaying information relating to unreturned calls at an end user telecommunications device, and providing the information in a manner that is convenient for user selection and interaction. Various manners of trapping, storing and acting upon the information are disclosed. Some of the methods and apparati provide for user interactions including (i) calling back selected unreturned calls; (ii) deleting selected unreturned calls from the display or storage; (iii) traking the status of unreturned calls including age, and whether those calls have been returned. Detailed embodiments for mobile telecommunications equipment and other modes of telecommunications modes are disclosed.
