    Abstract: A device for transferring heat from a device component to an environment includes a heat plate connected to a spring. A first fastener attaches the spring to the heat plate at a first location. A second fastener, such as a rivet, attaches the spring to the heat plate at each of a second and a third location. The second fastener includes a tab on and extending above the heat plate and corresponding tab slot on the spring. The spring is riveted to the heat plate at the first location and a second spring member accepts the tab at each of the second location and the third location. Ribs on a top surface of spring facilitate thermal coupling of the spring to the component when the device is assembled. One or more spring curvatures facilitate vertical deflection and horizontal extension of the spring during device assembly.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically recording content based on user web activity data are provided. One such method includes receiving, by a receiving device, user web activity information associated with a user of the receiving device. The receiving device further receives content information associated with program content that will be available for viewing via the receiving device at a future time. The received user web activity information and the content information are compared to determine program content relevant to the user. A timer is automatically set, in advance of a time when the relevant program content will be available for viewing, to record the program content relevant to the user when the program content becomes available for viewing.

    Abstract: Fast channel change systems and methods are operable to change channels to a newly selected media content event in response to a user request. An exemplary embodiment communicates a previously stored low resolution version segment of the newly selected media content event to a presentation system while the media device is performing a tuning operation to change channels to receive a currently broadcasting high resolution version of the newly selected media content event. Once the tuning process has been completed at the media device, a handshake process is performed wherein the media device transitions presentation from the low resolution version to the high resolution version of the newly selected media content event.

    Abstract: A home automation data storage system is provided that can include a plurality of home automation components, each component including a storage device. The system can also include a controller database for storing control data for the home automation system. The system can also include an electronic device communicatively coupled to the plurality of home automation components, the controller database, and a computing device, the electronic device having programming instructions that cause the electronic device to receive data from the computing device, store at least a portion of the data in the storage device of a component from the plurality of home automation components, and store information associating the storage device of the component and the at least a portion of the data in the controller database.
