Abstract:
An electromechanical strut is provided for moving a pivotal lift gate between an open position and a closed position relative to a motor vehicle body. The electromechanical strut includes a housing connected to one of the lift gate and the motor vehicle body. An extensible shaft is slidably mounted to the housing. The extensible shaft is connected to the other of the lift gate and the motor vehicle body. A drive mechanism includes a rotatable power screw. The drive mechanism converts rotary motion of the power screw into linear motion of the extensible shaft to move the extensible shaft between a retracted position corresponding to the closed position of the lift gate and an extended position corresponding to the open position of the lift gate. A power spring includes one end connected to the extensible shaft and another end connected to the housing for providing a mechanical counterbalance to the weight of the lift gate.
Abstract:
A damping device group is intended to be mounted on an articulated hinge for pieces of furniture and comprising a base plate, integral with or to be fixed onto flanges of the hinge holding member. Present on the base are two pivoted levers which move towards each other to compress a transverse damping device when a slider is moved rearwards towards the damping device due to the thrust of the wing which enters into the compartment of the holding member. Advantageously, the group reproduces the C-shape of the holding member with its flanges and it has a minimum overall dimension.
Abstract:
Furniture hinge with damping and/or braking device in alternative to those already existing and capable of guaranteeing an improved efficiency during the closing or opening operation of the doors, or other furniture parts, thanks to an improvement of the kinematic motion for transmitting motion from one of the rockers to the damping elements. The improved efficiency of this hinge is also obtained by increasing the friction surfaces with a viscous medium present in suitable areas of the hinge and by allowing regulation of the trend of the angular velocity of a circular shaped element, for example a disc, which acts as braking element in contact with the viscous medium.
Abstract:
A hinge system for opening a cover pivotably connected to a device housing. The hinge system includes a rotating member in the device housing and a shaft connected between the cover and the rotating member. A non-rotating member in the device housing receives the rotating member and a spring connected to the device housing and biased to rotate the shaft.
Abstract:
A hinge mechanism (200) for a portable electronic device (100) is provided. The hinge mechanism includes a first shaft (202) that is capable of rotating about a first axis (206). The hinge mechanism also includes a second shaft (204) that is capable of rotating about a second axis (208), wherein the second axis in substantially parallel to the first axis. A link (210) connects the first shaft and the second shaft, wherein the link enables the first shaft and the second shaft to rotate in opposite directions.
Abstract:
A vehicle tailgate lift assist support structure is disclosed that includes a vehicle rear end structure, a vehicle tailgate and a lift assist device. The vehicle rear end structure includes first and second walls that extend generally perpendicular to one another. A hinge reinforcement bracket has first and second reinforcing parts. The first reinforcing part is fastened on the first wall and the second reinforcing part is fastened on the second wall. A vehicle tailgate is pivotally coupled to the hinge reinforcement bracket and the rear end structure to open and close by rotation about a tailgate pivot axis. A lift assist device is operably connected to the tailgate hinge and the vehicle rear end structure to dampen opening movement and to apply a closing torque to tailgate hinge during closing movement of the vehicle tailgate.
Abstract:
A flap drive for a flap includes two identical lever joint arrangements which are arranged in pairs at a distance from one another. The flap can be moved out of its closing position into its opening position and back by the flap drive. In this case, the lever joint arrangements are articulated pivotably with one of their ends in each case on a side region of the flap and with their other ends at a fixed location on the motor vehicle. The mutually corresponding pivot axes of the articulation points extend coaxially to one another. Movement transmission devices for the pivotable drive of a driven lever of each lever joint arrangement are guided by a common motive drive unit, the driven levers being articulated at a fixed location on the motor vehicle.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a drive device, particularly for doors, garage doors, etc., comprising a guide device, particularly a rail or guide rail, extending in movement direction of the door. The invention is characterised in that the feed means comprises a first insert body which can be plugged at the ends of the guide rail into this and is provided with a connecting cable and which is held at the guide rail end and constructed in such a manner that it fulfils its function not only at one end of the guide rail, but also at the other end of the guide rail.
Abstract:
The invention provides a garage door that can have enhanced preventive safety measures and equipment to accommodate precise and timely maintenance. It is mainly to add into the garage door control mechanism a transceiver that uses electromagnetic waves in the form of laser, infrared, or supersonic wave as distance-measuring and transmission medium, which is directly reflected to the transceiver through a moving roller. In this way, the distance between the moving roller and the garage door can be measured. The roller speed can be pre-determined, so it equals to the garage door speed. Besides, the preset roller speed can be compared to the actual roller speed. This comparison ratio is used as a precise reference to determine whether the closing garage door hits an obstacle or carry out preventive safety maintenance. Thus, accidents can be prevented when the garage door is closing. The invention provides enhanced preventive safety measures and equipment to accommodate precise and timely maintenance.
Abstract:
A lifting apparatus for lifting and lowering a component of an automobile body that is hingedly and releasably attached to the automobile body at first and second attachment points. The lifting apparatus includes an extension member having first and second ends that is operable to move from a normally retracted position to an extended position. The first end of the extension member is pivotally attached to the component at a third attachment point and the second end of the extension member is pivotally attached to the automobile body. An actuator is operable to extend and retract the extension member. When a one of the first and second attachment points is released, the extension member moves from the retracted position to the extended position and moves the component to an open position about the other of the first and second attachment points.
