Abstract: An apparatus for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy includes a rotor having a first end portion and a second end portion, a first stator including a plurality of magnet poles, and a second stator including a plurality of magnet poles. Abstract: An electric machine comprise a first carrier having an array of electromagnetic elements and a second carrier having electromagnetic elements defining magnetic poles, the second carrier being arranged to move relative to the first carrier. An airgap is provided between the first carrier and the second carrier. The electromagnetic elements of the first carrier include posts, with slots between the posts, one or more electric conductors in each slot, the posts of the first carrier having a post height in mm. The first carrier and the second carrier together define a size of the electric machine. The magnetic poles having a pole pitch in mm. The size of the motor, pole pitch and post height are selected to fall within a region in a space defined by size, pole pitch and post height that provides a benefit in terms of force or torque per weight per excitation level.

Abstract: An electric machine includes a stator and a rotor, with the stator being equipped with at least one annular exciter unit that includes a coil and at least two annular yokes, with the rotor being equipped with a structure and at least one annular receiver unit. Each receiver unit includes at least two rows of magnets. Two sides of each yoke include teeth distributed angularly in a regular manner, and the teeth of the two adjacent yokes fit onto a face of the exciter unit, alternately forming north poles and south poles. Each row of the magnets is positioned opposite one face, forming an air gap with the exciter unit, with the electric machine thus including at least two air gaps, with a 3D magnetic flux thus circulating inside the said electric machine, dividing and regrouping itself in the vicinity of the magnets and of the yokes.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved electric machine which, when operating in motor mode, produces rotational torque without using alternating magnetic polarity, but rather magnetic axial flux that utilizes coils arranged in a dipolar manner around an axial plane. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the use of energy is significantly enhanced therein by injecting the energy harvested from the collapsing fields of electromagnetic drive components, and then directing said energy from said primary-drive coils of the machine into an isolated circuit which is thereafter introduced as a transient secondary process to power secondary-drive coils of the machine in order to increase the overall efficiency of the machine.
