Abstract:
A treatment method and apparatus for providing a substance to be absorbed onto a surface of a patient's skin, includes applying the substance onto the surface of the patient's skin by way of a probe head that provides, at the same time: i) bursts of electrical pulses to the skin surface, and ii) vibrations to the skin surface. The vibrations are applied to the skin surface at substantially a same frequency rate, a first harmonic of the same frequency rate, and/or a second harmonic of the same frequency rate, as a burst rate of electrical pulses being applied to the skin surface.
Abstract:
A patch positioning mechanism includes a casing including a handle and a protrusion extends from the casing so as to contact users' skin. A vibration device is connected to the protrusion so as to vibrate the protrusion. A patch is mounted on the protrusion and a cover is pivotably connected to the casing. The cover includes a through hole through which the protrusion extends. The cover is mounted on the protrusion so as to secure the patch on the protrusion.
Abstract:
Therapy patches provide portable massaging devices that can also deliver topical treatment chemicals. These patches can be adhered to the skin via an adhesive layer that is also impregnated with the treatment chemical. Kits are also provided to create a string of linked patches that can be used together or separately, and a microcontroller controls the vibration of the device for optimized massaging effects.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an applicator (1, 10b) for self application of lotions and creams to the back of a user. The applicator comprises a body section (2) having a non absorbing encasement (4), and located at each end thereof a handle (3). The body section (2) of the applicator (1. 10b) can be rotated with respect to the handles so that the body section (2) of the applicator (1, 109b) may be rolled over the back to effect dispersion of the lotion and/or cream applied to the surface of the encasement.

Abstract:
A shower attachment is configured to have the appearance of a human structure. In one embodiment, the human structure is a male penis, and the shower attachment in this embodiment has a shaft and a glans. Water enters the shower attachment and, preferably, exists through one or more openings in the glans and/or shaft.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for electrostatically coating a body surface with a coating composition. An apparatus of the present invention includes an enclosure, a mount positioned on the enclosure, and an electrostatic nozzle connected to the mount, the electrostatic nozzle adapted for passing the coating composition for deposition on the body surface. The apparatus further includes a floor surface within the enclosure, the floor surface having a resistive electrical connection.
Abstract:
A device for dispensing and applying a fluid contained in a reservoir may include an applicator member with an outer wall that is configured to be charged with fluid contained in the reservoir and to dispense such fluid. The wall may be turnable about a single axis of rotation. The device may further include a motor arranged to drive the applicator member in rotation around the single axis of rotation.
Abstract:
The invention features a method of administering a skin benefit agent to an expanse of skin, wherein the method includes: (a) contacting the expanse of skin with a skin benefit agent; and (b) contacting the skin benefit agent on the expanse of skin with an apparatus having a output power to the skin of greater than about 0.2 W, the apparatus including: a skin-contactable element having a skin-contactable surface; a motor; and a transfer member for transferring mechanical energy from the motor to the skin-contactable element in order to provide periodic motion to the skin-contactable surface; wherein the skin-contactable surface contacts the skin-benefit agent.
Abstract:
The present invention is a massage appliance comprising a preparation, a storage container containing the preparation, and a closure for the storage container. The closure comprises a massage device comprising an outlet opening through which the preparation can be applied to the surface to be massaged and an adjustment device comprising a first element with at least one first surface wherein the first surface contacts the surface to be massaged during a massage, and a second element arranged to be moveable relative to the first element. The adjustment device may be used to adjust a massage characteristic value of the first surface. The massage device is positioned at an angle with respect to the main axis of the storage container. The present invention also includes a method of applying a preparation to the skin, a method of treating rheumatoid arthritis, and a method of warming up using the massage appliance.
