Abstract:
A cleaning solution is provided. The cleaning solution contains denatured alcohol, deionized water, and an organic surfactant mixture consisting of water, 2-butoxyethanol, sodium citrate, ethoxylated alcohol, and tetrapotassium pyrophosphate. The present invention is intended for use with granite, marble, or other shiny surfaces. The solution utilizes a minimal amount of surfactants and highly distilled alcohols that can safely clean and sterilize these surfaces, without leaving unpleasant residues behind.
Abstract:
A liquid detergent aqueous composition comprising a mono-alcohol and an opacifier wherein the opacifier has improved stability in ethanol versus Acusol 301 and wherein the opacifier preferably is a high order polymer.
Abstract:
An aqueous cleaning composition comprising a surfactant, a polyamine, and propylene glycol. The combination of the polyamine and propylene glycol will provide low residue and increased shine during wet and dry wiping and will provide anti-fog properties to a substrate after cleaning. The use of either the polyamine alone or the propylene glycol alone will not provide results meeting all three tests.
Abstract:
An aqueous-based cleaning composition including a water-insoluble builder component and a method of providing both such builder component and such cleaning composition in the absence of heat to provide a cleaning composition which is phase stable at room temperature without loss of cleaning efficacy. The builder component is composed of a C10-C16 linear fatty monohydric alcohol, e.g., tetradecanol, and an alcohol carrier. The alcohol carrier is preferably a C1-C4 monohydric alcohol. An alkyl glucoside is preferably also included in the cleaning composition to enhance the provision of the composition as a clear solution, and to promote combination of hydrophobic and hydrophilic materials upon the mixing of components to provide the cleaning composition.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process to prepare external structuring system(s) (ESS) comprising crystallized triglycerides including crystallized hydrogenated castor oil (HCO) and packing parameter adjusting agent to provide higher structuring ability. The present invention also relates to laundry detergent compositions in liquid or gel form comprising ESS.
Abstract:
A method for cleaning objects made of organic or inorganic materials, wherein the relevant material is brought into contact with a composition in the form of a fluid nanophase system, comprising a) at least one water-insoluble substance having a water solubility of less than 4 grams per liter, b) at least one amphiphilic substance (NP-MCA) which has no surfactant structure, is not structure-forming on its own, the solubility of which in water or oil ranges between 4 g and 1000 g per liter and which does not preferably accumulate at the oil-water interface, c) at least one anionic, cationic, amphoteric and/or non-ionic surfactant, d) at least one polar protic solvent, in particular having hydroxy functionality, e) if necessary one or more auxiliary substance.
Abstract:
Compositions and methods for release of adherent deposits from nonporous surfaces and substrates are provided. The compositions are low volatile organic compound (low VOC) compositions, solutions or mixtures that can be applied in a form that clings to the underlying surface while it is working. Adherent deposits removed using the compositions include grease and oil, and printers ink. The compositions may be used on any nonporous surface or substrate including metals, ceramics and plastics, without harming the surface or substrate. The composition may contain a thixotropic agent to act as an anti-shearing agent.
Abstract:
A non-toxic formulation for removing cosmetic residue from glass, porcelain, polymeric and textile surfaces includes an anionic surfactant; ethanol; glycerin; water; and optionally an edible fragrance. Optionally, the exemplary formulation includes from about 0.1 to about 10 wt. % iso-propyl alcohol, or about 5 wt. %. Optionally, the surfactant is selected from the group consisting of sodium alpha-olefin sulfonates, and further optionally, the surfactant comprises sodium 14, 16 alpha-olefin sulfonate. In another exemplary embodiment, convenient wipes are provided that are impregnated with the formulation.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are enzyme powders comprising a spray-dried formulation of at least one CE-7 esterase, at least one oligosaccharide excipient, and optionally at least one surfactant. Also disclosed herein is a process for producing peroxycarboxylic acids from carboxylic acid esters using the aforementioned enzyme powders. Further, disinfectant and laundry care formulations comprising the peracids produced by the processes described herein are provided.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a “high lower alcohol content” (>40% v/v of a C1-4 alcohol) liquid composition able to be either dispensed as a stable foam with the use of non-propellant foam dispensing devices from non-pressurized containers or as an alcohol gel composition which does not use thickener and gelling agents that leave undesirable deposits or a sticky after-feel and that has a final viscosity less than 4,000 cps. The liquid compositions comprise an alcohol, C1-4 (>40% v/v), a fluorosurfactant of at least 0.001% by weight to prepare a foamable composition or from 0-2.0% to prepare a gel-like composition of a final viscosity less than 4,000 cps, 0-10% w/w of additional minor components added to obtain the desired performance (a foamable composition or a gel-like composition with a viscosity less than 4,000 cps), and the balance being purified water. The compositions may include emulsifier-emollients and moisturizers, secondary surfactants, foam stabilizers, fragrances, antimicrobial agents, other type of medicinal ingredients, and the like ingredients or additives or combinations thereof commonly added to alcohol gels or foams, aerosol compositions or to toiletries, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and the like.
