Abstract: A thermostat for transmitting data wirelessly to a controller in a building includes a temperature sensor, a processing circuit, and a wireless radio. The processing circuit is configured to receive a measured temperature value from the temperature sensor, determine a current temperature error based on the current measured temperature value and a setpoint temperature, and determine whether a difference between the current temperature error and a previous temperature error is greater than an error threshold. The processing circuit is configured to determine whether a minimum amount of time has passed since transmitting a previous measured temperature value and transmit the current measured temperature value to the controller via the wireless transmitter in response to determining that both the difference between the current temperature error and the previous temperature error is greater than the error threshold and the minimum amount of time has passed since transmitting a temperature value.

Additionally, the inner wall may be air permeable. The fan shroud may also include an acoustic damping material disposed between the outer wall and the inner wall. The fan shroud may encircle a fan of the HVAC unit to reduce noise.

Abstract: A wireless mesh network survey tool is provided. The tool includes a user interface and a processing circuit. The processing circuit is configured to access a scaled floorplan of a building site, and identify a receiver device location on the scaled floorplan. The processing circuit is further configured to instruct a user to position a transmitter device at a number of test locations to determine a signal strength at each of the test locations. The processing circuit is also configured to determine a device count for a proposed mesh network based on the signal strength at each of the test locations. The device count includes a number of repeater devices. The processing circuit is further configured to display the proposed mesh network to the user via the user interface. The proposed mesh network includes recommended locations for the repeater devices on the scaled floorplan.

Abstract: A multi-function thermostat for a building includes a sensor configured to measure an environmental condition of a building space, a communication interface, and a processing circuit. The communications interface is configured to communicate with an emergency server and receive occupant health data from a health sensor configured to monitor an occupant. The processing circuit is configured to determine a health metric associated with the occupant based on the occupant health data and cause the communications interface to send a distress message to the emergency server when the health metric associated with the occupant indicates a medical emergency.

Abstract: A system for determining and presenting false alarm reduction includes a processing circuit configured to determine addressable false alarms by determining, based on events of building devices of a building and event sequences of one or more false alarm rules, whether the one or more false alarm rules are triggered, where the one or more false alarm rules each include one of the event sequences indicating relationships between the events that are indicative of a situation at the building that causes an addressable false alarm. The processing circuit is configured to generate a plurality of recommendations based the triggered false alarm rules, wherein the recommendations prompt the user to rectify situations at the building that cause the addressable false alarms, generate a user interface comprising an indication of the addressable false alarms and the plurality of recommendations, and cause a display of a user device to display the user interface.
