    Abstract: Systems and methods of operating a wireless communication system are provided. A network node can receive a request from the wireless device to establish communication with the first access node. A network node can receive an indication from an authorization node that a wireless device is not authorized to communicate with a first access node. The network node can transmit a message denying the request to establish communication with the first access node to the wireless device based on the indication from the authorization node. The network node can receive a request from the wireless device to establish communication with a second access node. The network node can determine that the wireless device is authorized to establish communication with the second access node. The network node can transmit a message granting the request to establish communication with the second access node to the wireless device.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and processing nodes are related to selective resource allocation in a wireless network. An exemplary method includes determining, at an access node, wireless services utilized by a plurality of wireless devices connected to the access node. The wireless services include a first type of wireless service and a second type of wireless service. The method also includes determining whether a first percentage of the plurality of wireless devices utilizing the first type of wireless service relative to the second type of wireless service is greater than or equal to a service type threshold. The method also includes selecting a dynamic allocation scheme if the first percentage of the plurality of wireless devices utilizing the first type of wireless service relative to the second type of wireless service is greater than or equal to the service type threshold.

    Abstract: Methods, processing nodes, and systems are provided for managing relay nodes in a wireless network. A number of relay nodes attached to a donor access node can be determined. A number of latency sensitive wireless devices attached to the relay nodes can be determined. A latency sensitive wireless device can be a wireless device running a latency sensitive application. A latency sensitive relay node can be a relay node attached to the donor access node having an attached latency sensitive wireless device. A maximum number of relay nodes attached to the donor access node can be set, for example, based on the number of latency sensitive wireless devices attached to latency sensitive relay nodes.
