摘要: An absorbent mat includes top and bottom layers of thermoplastic material with absorbent media disposed therebetween. The top and bottom layers are bonded directly together, or to the absorbent media disposed therebetween, in spaced-apart bond sites. One or more perforations are formed as a result of bonding in the top and/or bottom layers in a peripheral portion of each bond. Each perforation is in communication with the absorbent media and provides a pathway through which liquid can pass. The top and bottom layers may be monolithic thermoplastic film with an aperture formed therethrough at each respective bond by stretching the multi-layer absorbent mat. One or more perforations are formed in the peripheral portion of each bond site thereof as a result of stretching. Each perforation is in communication with the absorbent media and provides a pathway through which liquid can pass into the absorbent media.

摘要: A method of digitally printing textile substrates includes pretreating a textile substrate with a solution that is configured to limit penetration of aqueous colorant into fibers of the textile substrate, drying the pretreated textile substrate for a predetermined period of time, and digitally printing one or more aqueous colorants onto the dried textile substrate. The pretreatment solution comprises a polyamine with a quaternary ammonium compound attached to the polyamine backbone. The pretreatment solution may be applied onto one or both sides of a textile substrate.

摘要: Flame retardant (FR) nonwoven fabrics and methods of producing same are provided. An FR nonwoven fabric includes FR rayon and either FR polyester or FR polypropylene or any blend thereof. The FR nonwoven fabric has a basis weight less than 3 ounces per square yard, and is devoid of non-FR binder material. The FR nonwoven fabric displays substantial flame retardant properties after five home launderings in accordance with protocols set forth in AATCC Test Method 135-1995. The FR nonwoven fabric is configured to maintain flame and heat resistant integrity when impinged with a gas flame in accordance with testing protocols set forth in Technical Bulletin 604 of the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs (TB-604), and to maintain flame and heat resistant integrity when impinged with a gas flame in accordance with testing protocols set forth in National Fire Protection Agency 701-1989 test method.

摘要: A fabric suitable for an automobile cover includes a metalized fabric having a finish coating including an emulsion of urethane polymers, acrylic polymers and a fluorocarbon. The finish coating may also include an antimicrobial agent, a surfactant and a catalyst. Such a fabric can be manufactured by vacuum metalizing a fabric with aluminum, applying a finishing solution of urethane, acrylic, fluorocarbon emulsion, drying the fabric at a temperature between 320.degree. F. and 400.degree. F., and calendering the fabric.

摘要: Reusable, launderable, sterilizable medical barrier fabric tightly woven from 100% polyester fiber constructed of polyester yarn of from 50 to 150 denier, the sum of the ends and picks of at least 100 per linear inch, is treated with a flame-resistant, water repellent, antimicrobial finish. Medical garments, wraps and like sterilizable articles constructed of this fabric retain their desirable properties after repeated institutional launderings and/or steam sterilizations.
